About 200 Muslim imams, community leaders and others held a rally at the Capitol Friday to protest last week’s congressional hearing led by New York Republican Rep. Peter King on the radicalization of Muslims in the U.S.
Holding and waving signs that said “Muslims are not the enemy” and “Read the Quran, Mr. King,” the group marched from the Masjid Dawah on University Avenue in St. Paul and arrived at the Capitol around 1 p.m.
“We’re here today to show we Muslims are a peaceful people,” Imam Hassan Mohamud, with the Masjid Dawah, told the group of protestors. “Are we extremists? No. Are we terrorists? No. Are we radicalists? No.”

Rep. King made a seemingly laudable effort in exposing Islam and its ‘militant’ adherents in the US. For PC reasons, hardly any time has been spent by government in investigating the effect that Islam has had since it flooded into our country.
The fact that Islam was referred to as the Religion of Peace (ROP), less than a year after the destruction of the WTC by Muslims, only indicates how politically correct our government has become in its dealings with Islam. Why should we investigate a peaceful movement, right? Yet, no evidence of Islam’s serenity has ever been produced before or after that disingenuous statement was made.
Mr. King claims that any aggressive behavior of a ‘few’ Muslims in the US is a result of Al-Qaeda’s influence in the many mosques that now pollute the American skyline. Does Peter King want to bask in the political limelight or is he really that ignorant of world history? Mr. King should consider the following before blaming AQ for Islam’s detestable behavior worldwide:
1. Where was AQ when the Christians in Asia Minor and North Africa were given the choice between slaughter and conversion?
2. Did Charles Martel have to fight AQ at the battle of Poitiers (732 AD), in order to save France from islamization?
3. Was it the fear for AQ that made the Europeans decide to go on the many Crusades?
4. Was AQ at the helm of the Muslim ships at the Battle of Lepanto?
5. Was it AQ that slaughtered more than a million Armenian Christians in the early 1900s or was it the Turkish Muslims who were culpable?
Mr. King should read the Koran. He would find no reference to AQ but he’ll discover the reason for Islam’s murderous aggressiveness. The answer lies in Koranic teachings that existed long before we ever learned about AQ.

If Muslims aren’t killing the infidel, they are killing each other. There never has been “peace” in Islam. There never will be. And I do mean never, as in forever.
If they had instead protested the atrocities committed by Muslims in the name of “jihad” that’ve taken place both on U.S. soil and around the world in recent history, there’d be no need for these hearings.

Yeah, we get that most Muslims are fine peaceful people. And we get that all religions have their radical fringe. But for most religions — Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism — that fringe is probably .001% or something. It’s like arsenic levels in drinking water. A few parts per million is no problem, but 10% is a big problem.
Furthermore, it’s up to the mainstream to control its fringe, to anathematize it and ostracize it and keep it at bay. That’s where moderate Islam has failed, and that’s why it is rightfully held in a certain degree of contempt and suspicion by those who are threatened and victimized by its fringe. No one enjoys holding anyone in contempt, but that’s how things work.
Why do we allow muslims to immigrate to the United States?
A society that believes in self preservation would never permit Islamic immigration.
