President Obama sends an important message to those celebrating the holiday of Nowruz. At a time of great regional change and renewal, the President this year speaks directly to the Iranian people, in particular the Iranian youth. ...you the young people of Iran carry within you both the ancient greatness of Persian civilization, and the power to forge a country that is responsive to your aspirations. Your talent, your hopes, and your choices will shape the future of Iran, and help light the world. And though times may seem dark, I want you to know that I am with you, he says.

... Sarah Palin found her way to Israel on Purim.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Good grief, this isn’t a spoof?
maybe he’ll praise Christian yoots here, when he celebrates Easter
(crickets)
Nope.
Interesting article at Wikipedia on this holiday—basically, the first day of spring. It was originally Zoroastrian, and I imagine it celebrates the triumph of light over darkness.
Purim? What’s that? Obama doesn’t want to know about it. Besides, he’s busy playing soccer in Rio.
Go, Sarah.
Good grief! The tastelessness of praising Persians on Purim, the commemoration of the day the Persians were going to exterminate the Jews. It took a woman to foil the plot (Esther), so it was a good day for Sarah Palin to be on the right side of the issue, even without making a point of it.
Here’s Obama’s perspective: We may have our differences, but Iran is one of the 57 states of the Ummah.
As to the Jews... (FR family-friendly policies prevent filling in his sentiments)
WTFFFFF???
On the other hand, Nowruz is pre-Islamic, it dates long before Islam came to Persia. In fact, the Mullahs of Iran frown on celebrating it, probably for that reason.
Yes, young people of Iran, The Won is with you so go ahead and put your arses on the line. Again. THIS TIME 0bamassaiah will come to your rescue. /s
He’s talking to his people again! WTH
