Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is backpedaling on his support for Obamas health care law.
The coffee giant CEO said in a statement that the way the bill is written under the current guidelines, the pressure on small business because of the mandate is too great.
Martha MacCallum spoke to Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office and president of the American Action Forum about Schultzs statement and the impact to small business owners.

Oh so Starbucks CEO was for it before he was against it.
Too late after it’s law, eh?
Starbucks supported Obamacare and Obama. I hope it breaks their financial back.
sounds like he’s mad he didn’t get the “Friends of Obama Waiver” like he was promised if he supported it.
Well, that’s the plan, anyway.
Howard, you were a dumb @ss for supporting Obama in the first place.
All regulation of business sets up barriers to smaller players entering the industry being regulated.
All regulation has this effect, regardless of whether you think it is a good idea or you think it is for your own good.
That’s the economic reality of regulation.
Regulations tend to grow over time as the big players in the industry work with government to cartelize their industry to protect themselves at the expense of everyone else.
But whatever, I’m just a kook who reads stuff by people such as Bastiat, von Mises, and Hayek. I probably hate America too, with my criticism of government and all.
Oh yeah. Nothing new under the sun.
It would have been nice to have had hearing where small businesses, health care professionals, people who live under socialized medicine in other countries, etc, could have voiced their concerns. Instead, we got fast tracking, arm twisting, deeming, bribing, and pass first-read later.
Remember those famous words from the “genius of rhetoric and logic” Nancy Pelosi on Obamacare: “We have to pass it before we can find out what’s in it.”
Hey, Doug, wait until the Wobblies hold ya up for six weeks paid vacation and full-paid family leave...
The (Starbucks) regional manager literally told us that we werent allowed to invite people to union meetings thats the same kind of violation that you see at Wal-Mart, said Erik Forman, a former Starbucks employee fired for union organizing.
“Howard Schultz has fought hard against the Employee Free Choice Act in an attempt to continue intimidating workers hoping to unionize.”
I seem to remember something Gandalf said of Sauron..about not sharing power?
You voted for change. Now you’re gonna have it.
This is exactly what happened in Canada will internet and cell phones. The Big Two, Rogers and Bell, control almost everything, and shoot down any newcomers that would offer uncapped.unthrottled connections. So you have a lot of peeps up there screaming for net neutrality (i.e. uncapped/unthrottled). Problem is, its like trying to choose between getting your internet from Sauron, or Saruman.
Unintended, disastrous consequences that the adults must clean up... the hallmark of liberalism.
