Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
Gracias!
March 23, 2011
When I visited Mexico, I wished I knew how to speak Spanish. I could say gracias (thank you), muy bien (very good), and hola (hello). But that was about it. I grew tired of just saying gracias to everyone who talked with me or did something for me.
But we should never grow tired of giving words of thanks to God. David knew the importance of saying thanks. After he became king over Israel and had a tent constructed to house the ark of the covenant (where Gods presence dwelt), he appointed some of the Levites to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord (1 Chron. 16:4). Many people remained there to offer sacrifices and give thanks to God daily (vv.37-38).
David also committed to Asaph and his associates a song of thanks (1 Chron. 16:8-36). His psalm gave thanks for what the Lord had done: His deeds among the peoples (v.8), His wondrous works (v.9), His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth (v.12), and His salvation (v.35). Davids song also gave praise for who the Lord was: good, merciful, and holy (vv.34-35).
Like David, we should never grow tired of saying gracias to God for who He is and for all Hes done for us. Take time today to offer your sacrifice of praise to Him.
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven,
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Evermore His praises sing. Lyte

You Are a Hurricane |
You are downright deadly. No one would ever try to mess with you. You are feared and rightly so. Once you get on the warpath, there's no stopping you.
People know to get out of your way as soon as they can. You only pick up momentum as you progress. You may calm down temporarily, but you always get a second wind. You're one storm that takes a while to pass. |
LOL, actually I'm more of a pussycat!

You Are a Thunderstorm |
You are a bit temperamental and unpredictable. You have a lot of pent up energy. You don't strike often, but when you do it can be deadly. You can be extremely destructive.
People find you to be amazing and awesome. You can be a bit scary at times, but that just adds to your appeal. You tend to get other people excited whenever you're riled up. You aren't usually the only storm in town. |
And I love to play Mussorgskiy's Pictures At An Exhibition and Chopin's Ocean Etude during thunderstorms, too.

You Are a Blizzard |
You are both dangerous but beautiful. People both welcome you and fear you. You can cause a lot of trouble and even destruction. Some would argue that you're worth it though!
You tend to overtake people and change everything. You aren't subtle, but you are sometimes hard to see through. There is a quiet and stillness that you sometimes bring. Some find you to be quite peaceful. |

You Are a Tornado |
It may seem like you can't do much damage, but you can pack a big punch. You're very powerful. You rarely swing into action, but when you do, look out! You can spin yourself into quite a frenzy.
When you're in a bad mood, it's easy for you to suck others into your drama. You can be a bit of a black hole that way. At your worst, you leave a serious path of destruction. You pretty much wipe out everything in site. |
LOL. Not sure this is too accurate, I don't do drama.

Now THIS one:
You Are Deep |
You are completely self sufficient. You are your own happiness. You are content with your life and the world. It's hard to bum you out.
You see how everything is cyclical. You understand that nothing is permanent. Insightful and smart, you know enough to get how the world works yet still realize there is more to learn. |
THAT'S me! ;)
