WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton warned President Bush on Wednesday not to take any military action against Iran without getting congressional approval first.

"If the administration believes that any, any use of force against Iran is necessary, the president must come to Congress to seek that authority," Clinton said in a Senate speech.

Hillary...are you reading this? How are we suppose to have confidence in Washington DC when we’ve got this trail of double talk dragging behind.

The criteria set by Democrats for Republican presidents to use are only for Republican presidents.

As the years go by, and then a good Democrat is president, that good Democrat president is NOT held to the same standard that the Republican president was held to.

The useful idiots in the MSM will do their best so as not to expose what Hillary Clinton once said about a Republican president in a similar circumstance.

And will continue to do so. It seems everybody has switched sides on the topic (just as they have on deficit spending). Not to worry, they’ll switch back when the White House (seemingly) changes hands again.

Cue the tape of Hillary a few years back, shrieking, “We reserve the right to criticize this administration, or ANY administration!”

I need a t-shirt that says that, with all attribution to Ms. Hillary, of course.

Various news outlets were predictably on the bandwagon. A sampling ...

Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has warned the administration that it had better seek congressional authorization for any attack on Iran. But we need Senate and House hearings now to put the Bush administration on notice that, in the absence of an imminent military attack or a verified terrorist attack on the United States by Iran, Congress will not support a U.S. military strike on that country. Those hearings should aim toward passage of a law preventing the expenditure of any funds for a military attack on Iran unless Congress has either declared war with that country or has otherwise authorized military action under the War Powers Act.

The law should be attached to an appropriations bill, making it difficult for the president to veto. If he simply claims that he is not bound by the restriction even if he signs it into law, and then orders an attack on Iran without congressional authorization for it, Congress should file a lawsuit and begin impeachment proceedings.

According to the website below, there were 52 countries in the Coalition of the Willing in March-April 2003, 15 of which provided boots on the ground. In March 2004 there were 53 countries with 34 providing troops to over throw the Iraqi serial killer Saddam.

17 UN resolutions were promptly ignored by Iraq along with harboring of known terrorists, large payments to suicide bombers, known terrorist training camps, WMD and its use on their citizens, over a year of warnings and a Congressional Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq. But this fiasco? All is well in Barry’s World.
