The Obama administration reportedly is considering former Clinton administration official Jamie Gorelick, among others, to become the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The Wall Street Journal’s Evan Perez first reported the news last week, citing “U.S. officials” familiar with the situation.
Gorelick served as vice chairman of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) when the government-sponsored enterprise began bundling subprime loans into securitized financial instruments. Prior to that, she served as deputy attorney general in the Clinton Justice Department under then-Attorney General Janet Reno from 1994 to 1997.

But Gorelick is perhaps best known for her 1995 memo, written when she was deputy attorney general, that later became known as “Gorelick’s Wall,” a policy prescription limiting the flow of information between intelligence gatherers and criminal investigators that some believe helped allow the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center to go unchallenged.

Any mention of Gorelick must add that she personally took about 26 million dollars in bonuses while she was running fannie mae into the ground. Of course, she was also the constructor of the Chinese wall and probably the American most responsible for 911.
This is madness. If The Senate approves her it will inaugurate Obama’s “civilian army” and we will be another step closer to open revolt in this country.

Gorelick was also the DOD General Counsel who worked furiously to try to sneak in Clinton’s lifting of DADT. Among other things.
She is a party hack and does not a have world view consistent with the best interests of the United States.
Gorelick and her mini-me, Beth Wilkinson, who, besides being married to David Gregory, worked for Gorelick at both DOD and Fannie.

The Senate will not approve of her. We know of at least 4 Democrats that value their jobs come 2012. I would strongly suggest that if she gets confirmed, the next day congress subpeonas her about Fannie and Freddie.
Two possible reasons for this:
1.) Obama is looking for a war with, or possibly within, the GOP. The Tea Party and Conservative rank and file will demand (rightfully so, imho) that the GOP Senators destroy her in confirmation hearings. Either they do that and get into a nasty (and more importantly, distracting) fight with the Obama Administration, or they get into a fight with their base.
2.) They’re floating her name to make the actual choice look good (or at least much better) by comparison.
She must have 8x10 glossies of every politician in DC.
