(CNSNews.com) –Jamie Gorelick, a former Clinton administration official who has reportedly made the Obama administration's to become considering the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was paid more than $26 million in total compensation as a top executive at Fannie Mae--before taxpayers had to bail out the mortgage giant.

Gorelick, who left the Clinton Justice Department in 1997 to work for Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines, was paid $26,466,834 in salary, bonuses, performance pay and stock options from 1998 to 2003, according to the Report of the Special Examination of Fannie Mae (2006), conducted by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight.

Gorelick served as vice chairman of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) when the government-sponsored enterprise was bundling subprime loans into securitized financial instruments. Prior to that, she served as deputy attorney general in the Clinton Justice Department under then-Attorney General Janet Reno from 1994 to 1997.

Raines had served as Clinton's budget director before assuming the top post at Fannie Mae.

DAG Eric Holder was repeatedly told the “Wall” was blocking intel sharing
911FamiliesForAermica.org ^ | January 27, 2009 | Tim Sumner

Three times during his tenure as Deputy Attorney General, Eric Holder was made fully aware that intelligence sharing with the Criminal Division was not taking place. As the officer in charge of day-to-day operations at the Department of Justice, his lack of due diligence ensured that the ‘Wall’ between the intelligence and criminal divisions of the FBI that Jamie Gorelick had built would remain in place for the foreseeable future. The ‘Wall’ stood as the Clinton administration and intelligence community saw the rising threat of al Qaeda, Ramzi Yousef was prosecuted for making the bomb used in the 1993 attack upon the World Trade Center and “Bojinka” plot to bomb American jetliners, and our embassies in Africa were attacked in 1998.

Guess who’s been involved intimately with Fannie Mae (Anyone remember Jamie Gorelick?)
Rush Limbaugh .com ^ | 7/16/08 | The Maha

From the Maha -

Guess who’s been involved intimately with Fannie Mae? Does the name Jamie Gorelick ring a bell? This woman is everywhere, and Jamie Gorelick got a 26 million payout when she left the place. Jamie Gorelick got 26 million to leave, one of Clinton’s guys, Franklin Raines, Franklin Raines, he was kicked out after corrupting the place. He left shortly before he was taking it in the shorts, but he got out of there with no penalty whatsoever. What is it with these Clinton people? This is why we don’t get any tell-all books on the Clinton administration because they were all set up in these sweetheart deals — money, money, money, money — I still can’t get over this. Congress is not helping poor old Doug Gylfe, so now we have millions of Americans who are priced out of home ownership, which is how this all started. “Any rescue policy to stem forecloses could artificially prop up home prices and perpetuate the affordability crisis,” yet I’ll guaran-damn-tee you if government did nothing and home prices continue to fall then tomorrow the AP would write a story whining and moaning about the lack of asset value for people who still do own their houses. We just can’t win with these people.

this woman is as incompetent as it gets. everything she touches falls to $h*t. only after she gets her payout, though or someone else gets killed.

Oooooh hellll no! She made a mint at Fannie Mae for helping bring on the housing crash by buying garbage mortgages and packaging them into notes backed by the taxpayer.

She should’ve been prosecuted for what she did at the Clinton Justice Dep’t. She erected the “Chinese Wall” between the CIA and the FBI (probably to hide things like Loral Corp’s technology transfers to China and mysterious donations to Clinton from James Riady, John Huang, and Charlie Trie). This indirectly led to 9-11 because the CIA couldn’t notify the FBI when some terrorist on watch lists came into the US. God help this country if she ran the FBI for 11 years. I can’t believe she is being considered for this.

When will FReepers realize this is a third Clinton administration? I would bet half of the administration are friends of Bill or were in the Clinton admin.

Obama was put in as figurehead to allow Billary cover under "darkness" to get the things done they wanted to do in the nineties but couldn't.

Let’s not forget that she was also intimately involved in the Waco fiasco too.

She was rumored to be in the running for Obama’s Attorney General. It was also rumored that he didn’t want the baggage she carried with her. Since then she made headlines by providing assistance to BP in their presentations before Congress.

Oops... I may have screwed up here...

I meant to say that she was intimately involved in 9-11, since she’s the one who authored the memo creating “a wall” between foreign and domestic intel and law enforcement, ostensibly to protect the clintons & dems from investigations of illegal foreign campain contributions, that directly led to 9-11. Then she was on the 9-11 investigation committee.

Gorelick leaves a trail of wreckage behind her wherever she goes. Her recommendation to put firewalls between the FBI and other security agencies help setup 9-11 (all done to throw road blocks in the path of chasing down the Clinton scandals). Then she get’s appointed to be on the panel that essentially clears her involvement of any wrong doing.

No matter how bad she screws up she comes out smelling like a rose with more power and money. She is definitely so well connected that one would think she is untouchable.

” Her recommendation to put firewalls between the FBI and other security agencies help setup 9-11 (all done to throw road blocks in the path of chasing down the Clinton scandals). “

Very very important that people don't forget that. That is why the information from the flight instructor in Minnesota didn't go anywhere.
The instructor was suspicious why a middle eastern male wanted to take flying lessons; but had no interest in learning how to land.
He alerted the local FBI from my recollection.

From what I remember; this info probably would have stopped the 911 attacks had it been handled properly. But Gorlicks walls kept the information from going anywhere.
