Policeman sues over orders to attend Islamic prayer

A Tulsa, Okla., police captain is suing his chief and the city after he was demoted and targeted by an internal investigation for refusing orders to attend an event featuring lessons in Islam, a tour and a prayer service at a mosque linked to an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror financing trial.

The legal action has been brought by attorneys with the Thomas More Law Center on behalf of Paul Fields.

Named as defendants are the city, police chief Charles W. Jordan and deputy chief Alvin Daryl Webster. WND requests for comment did not generate a response from the defendants.

At issue is a solicitation by officials in the Tulsa Police Department for officers to attend a "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" organized by the Islamic Society of Tulsa. The invitation said the officers would be given tours of the mosque, meet the mosque's leadership, be given presentations of "beliefs, human rights, women" and "watch the 2-2:45 weekly congregational prayer service."

While at first the police administration's recommendation for attendance at the event appeared to be voluntary – there was a voluntary signup list – the law firm said when officers refused to respond, the managers made it a required event.

I guess separation of church and state is only for Christians. Imagine what would happen if they opted to go to Mass during work hours?

“And this is in Oklahoma! Things are getting down right scary.”

For most of the independent (don’t-give-a-dam) voters, multiculturalism (anti-Americanism) has been a fashion fad. Multiculturalism is like hip-hugger jeans, body piercing and tattoos. At some point, enough independents will realize that multiculturalism means converting your lifestyle back to the middle ages and then they’ll join the right in responding appropriately.

Islam insists that we either convert or die. When they become even close to 50% of the population, it’s no longer safe to look like anything other than an Islamic. Women will wear full face covering or they get acid thrown on them. So, I ask; what is the appropriate response we, as a society, must make?

Was the attendance required as part of his duty (surveillance of Muslim bad actors, for instance), or as a PC educational assignment? That makes a difference.

I read the rest and answered my own question. I would have attended, just to seek out the bomb factory in the mosque basement, but that’s just me...

Policemans case is a loser.

Policeman should have gone to the mosque and gathered information.

It is no different than what we did in grade school going to different churches and a synagogue—he is making a point but it is a stupid one.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer is what should be applied here. So what, as long as they pay you to waste your time, just think, you get the layout of the mosque, meet some of the adherents to this devil’s religion and it could pay off later.

“what is the appropriate response we, as a society, must make?”

There really is no option. The key problem with peaceful responses is the muslims are using our traditions and laws against us. They profess to be peaceful up until they have around 35% of a population and then they dispense with the pleasantries.

Initially the event was voluntary. Few, if any, signed up and THEN it became MANDATORY. This has nothing to do with policing... catching criminals, stopping crime. This is plain and outright political correctness gone mad. Don’t want to participate? Too bad because your job is on the line. I hope he sues and wins big!

The best way to show appreciation for law enforcement is to obey the law i.e. get your own Islamic house in order and be on the front lines in identifying and casting out those involved in terrorism.

Assuming he was being paid for it, it was kind of stupid not to go.

I might have attended and dropped little bits of bacon throughout the mosque.

And this “stupid”point you refer to— how would you respond if the policeman was -say a firefighter—and ordered to attend a gay Pride event? In my estimation there is little difference.
Related question In was entrusted to the public school indoctrination in the 60’s and survived the Progressive education experiment more or less in tact. Then they did not take their captives to other churches— or synagogues (as you seem to have been) but they did say we needed to get beyond what we had learned at home ,or in church.Am I right to note the evolution or progression in the public educaitons war against Christianity?

You got that right! This [mandatory attendance]] is one of the indtruments that they use to weed out the dissenters. They are then replaced with accenters. What happens next, well, that is not pleasant at all to even think about. What one needs to keep in mind is that until they are stopped, they will continue to advance.

and I would bet that the Department would insist it is not infringing upon the rights of any of their officers by such action. Apparantly enforcing the notion that when one becomes a police officer, or firefighter, or doctor, or soldier one loses the right to be a Christian -i.e. the godless State has usurped the rights of citizens as Christians.
