The Columbian ^ | 3/25/2011 | Stephanie Rice

State Rep. Jim Jacks said today he has resigned, effective immediately.

The 49th District Democrat, who was first elected in 2008, said he was leaving office for personal reasons, which he did not want publicly stated.

Jacks, 41, was re-elected in November.

The county commissioners will appoint a replacement from a list of three nominations culled by the Clark County Democratic precinct leaders.

The replacement will have to run in November to keep the seat.

They didn't need to - they already mentioned the (D) word. :-)

You have to wonder why the Columbian is the only paper in the state to run a photo of him portraying him as a dedicated family man.

The calls I received from Olympia this morning paint him as anything but!

We’ll see how long the Columbian can continue to cover up for what is all over the capital campus of “inappropriate conduct.”

This was hardly a surprise either. Craig Pridemore told KOMO News that they have been discussing this for the last couple of days.

If Jacks were a Republican, like when they went after Richard Curtis and Jim Dunn, the scandalous accusations would be headlines already.
