NRA boss unveils shocking news on radio

Glenn interviewed Wayne LaPierre on radio this morning, and the NRA boss unveiled a shocking story to the radio audience.

Wayne explained, “What’s going on is NRA called for full‑scale congressional investigations into this program that our government, the Obama administration was running called Fast and Furious.”

“Apparently what was going on and this is all based on what agents, law enforcement agents, are coming forward under the Whistleblower Act and saying is that we all heard Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder and the administration saying 90% of the guns the cartels are getting are coming from the United States.”

“Blaming the Second Amendment, lock, stock and barrel for the guns of the Mexican gun cartels.”

“Problem was they could only prove a trickle. What it looks like, apparently, is someone in this administration, in our federal government, set out to turn that trickle into a river of guns flowing from the United States into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels over the border into their hands.”

“It’s called Fast and Furious. They did it over the objections of their field agents who said if we send guns over the border into the hands of these evil people, the Mexican drug cartels, we’ll see these guns again. These people will cause harm with these guns.”

“They wept ahead and did it. They, in effect, set up a dealership. They set up an illegal pipe line and they pumped thousands and thousands according to the agents’ words, guns, from the United States over the border into the hands of the Mexican drug cartel.”

“We’re arming the military to help stop them, or are you saying there’s actually an illegal gun smuggling ring that was set up by the United States government to push to actually put them in the hands of the bad guys?” Glenn asked.

ummm I don’t think the NRA initiated the congressional investigations. Others have been on this for a while.

But its nice to see the NRA adding their muscle.

That was my take right from the start.

They were not trying to catch arms smugglers, they were trying to increase the number of American guns in Mexico so the statistics would show more coming from the U.S.

At the e d of the day it was a federal law enforcement agency that set out to undermine the 2A by breaking the law... Folks need to remember that.

Hey Glenn, this story has been around for weeks. However I am glad you are finally getting to it. This story needs all the exposure it can get.

You are correct. CBS News, suprisingly are the ones that broke this case. And Sen Grassley, I believe is the one exposing it to the light of day in the Senate.

I will say, as a Life Member of the NRA for nearly 30 years, that this is one major problem I have with them. They seem to have become "stick your wet finger in the air, then jump on the bandwagon" types. I really wish they'd be more out front with these types of things, than Johnny come Latelies.

People can get all the background they want by searching for the keyword “gunwalker” here on freerepublic.

Nice to see the NRA pushing this and Glenn Beck promising to look into it.

Glenn has been missing in action on this one.

An executive agency - the Congress and Courts are already pretty hip to undermining the right to keep and bear arms.

The NRA has gotten far too cozy with the leftists. They gave far too many donkeys cover during the last election. If the NRA would have helped, the GOP would have a larger majority in the house and a majority in the senate. They will never see another dime of my money.

I’m just surprised Glen hasn’t been aware of “Gunrunner” and “Fast and Furious”. It’s been out there. His crew is falling down on the job. Someone send him a link to all the threads here.

I thought LaPierre gave kind of a lousy explanation of what Gunwalker is all about.

You're absolutely right. I was screaming at the radio for him to spit out the facts but he kept tripping over his own words. What a dolt!

I know. Glen was believing that the guns were initially intended for a good reason but ended up in the wrong hands. LaPierre never did really explain that the ATF was having gun dealers sell them to “middle” men (What did they call them? Strawmen or straw buyers? Something like that.)

My blood pressure just goes through the roof over things like that. It’s why I quit watching O’reilly a year ago.

“CBS News, suprisingly are the ones that broke this”

Depends on what you mean by “broke”. CBS was the first to focus much attention on it in the mainstream media, but most of the credit should go to David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh.

Where has Wayne been hiding? As a former NRA member, left when Clinton was elected, I now get Telemarketing calls from the NRA. They start with, “I’m “Joe” with the NRA asking for your help” CLICK. “Joe” where was the NRA when we needed your help?

How much does Wayne get paid?
