Weather Underground terrorist speaks to new generation of SDS

NEW YORK – Bill Ayers has once again suggested he was the author of Barack Obama's celebrated autobiography, even though the admission could be explained away as a mocking irony designed only to goad Ayers's critics by yet another false admission he was the president's ghostwriter.

At the conclusion of a speech sponsored by the Students for a Democratic Society at Montclair State University in New Jersey, the former Weather Underground bomber gleefully claimed credit for writing Obama's "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance."

As shown in a video clip on YouTube, Ayers responding to a question about "Dreams," said, "Did you know that I wrote it, incidentally?"

Did you take the poll? I knew Ayers alter-ego couldn’t stay hidden for long. It’s just not in him not to take credit for his work, especially blowing things & people up.

He's just trying to trump Trump

I guess he is angry that the empty suit is president

Maybe if he cooperated with Trump they could expose the empty suit for the fake that he is.

Do I hear a Trump/Ayers in '12..../sarc

Ayers acting like a smug, arrogant ass isn't difficult to imagine given that he was willing to kill people to push his political opinions.

Not too far off topic, - who were the "unknown number of accomplices who managed to escape?"

"The Brink's robbery of 1981 was an armed robbery committed on October 20, 1981, which was carried out by Black Liberation Army members; including Kathy Boudin, ... and an unknown number of accomplices, - killing two police officers, and a Brink's guard.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brink%27s_robbery_%281981%29

Kathy Boudin and Gilbert's son Chesa Boudin was adopted by former Weatherman leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

A few weeks ago, the History Channel did a Biography simply called, “Hippies.” It is the history of the 1960s Hippie Revolution and the connection of LSD, etc., which ended with the Charles Manson murders. But not really..It morphed into the Environmental movement and left wing politics which has brought America to it’s knees today..Bill Ayers was an active player in all that and the roots of the Obama Administration, I would say, go back to the people in that movement who are upper middle aged now. I would guess that the hard core are still Hippies because their brains are damaged from all that LSD, if they survived. If you get a chance, watch this program..It is an eye opener.

The lead up to the release of Crosi’s new book on Obama should get even more heated...look for new cracks in the dam to appear publicly.

What happens if Turmp and/or Hannity broadens their statements on Obama’s BC to questioning why Obama has multiple SSNs? Then the issue of fraud becomes very serious in the minds of the general public.

Jack Cashill’s book “Deconstructing Obmama” takes apart “Dreams” piece by piece to prove that Ayers was no doubt the writer.

Interesting suggestion I think you are making here. The timing lines up. Obama moved to NYC in the fall of 1981. No one can confirm what in the world he did while he was there. This is when he met his mentor Bill Ayers and we know holds Black Liberation values in his heart. I wonder if there is video footage of this.

Not too far off topic, - who were the "unknown number of accomplices who managed to escape?"

NOT so far off topic, IMO. Why continue to beat the dead horse named "who authored "Dreams"" --- the evidence is overwhelming.

More productive is your question, and several others that are potentially equally productive:

Guilty as Hell, Free as a Bird (for now)[March 18, 2009]

I can't imagine that this article escaped the attention of FR, but a FR search on this title did not produce any results. (??) The entire article is worth a read.

Quotes from article:

Bill Ayers' famous quip may come back to haunt him. There is no statute of limitations on murder charges. On February 16, 1970, someone planted a bomb at San Francisco's Park Police Station. It was placed in a window of the business office and timed to explode at shift change, when the maximum number of officers would be there, either finishing up or starting their work.

It was a powerful blast, throwing one officer in the station parking lot completely over his patrol car and sending shrapnel for over two city blocks. The bomb fortunately detonated a few minutes early so the destruction was less than it might have been. Still, nine were wounded, one -- Officer Robert Fogarty -- badly enough that he retired from the force on disability, and one, Sergeant Brian McDonnell, 45 year old married father of two, was killed.

On Thursday, March 12, 2009, Cliff Kincaid of America's Survival Inc. held a press conference at the National Press Club, launching the Campaign for Justice for Victims of Weather Underground Terrorism, to focus public attention on evidence that may finally bring the alleged perpetrators to justice: Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...in January of 1970, Grathwohl had listened as Ayers described to him plans for the bombing of two police stations in Detroit, Michigan. As he related to the FBI agents on the case:
"Bill Ayers had debriefed me regarding every aspect of the plans we had developed before telling me I was being reassigned to Madison. Bill's two major requirements were that the bombs go off at the same time and that the greatest number of police officers would be killed or injured. Both bombs were to contain fence staples or roofing nails to ensure this effect. Bill Ayers didn't care if innocent people were also killed or injured. Bill had even gone so far as to tell us that the bomb at the 13th precinct should be placed on a window ledge. [As they later did at the park station bombing.]"
NOTE Bill Ayers' mention of "fence staples," according to the testimony of Larry Grathwohl, former FBI informant, given in Jan, 1970--- one month before the commission of the San Francisco bombing in Feb 1970---, and the matching eyewitness report of SF police officer Jim Pera:
Larry's description of the bomb components, particularly the use of fence staples, got the attention of retired San Francisco police officer Jim Pera. Pera was one of the first on the scene the day of the bombing and described the scene:
" "The window to the business office and an interior window, where prisoners were processed for booking were blown out. The walls and furniture were pock marked by shrapnel. Barbed wire fence post staples, from the bomb, were scattered throughout the ground floor of the station. Blood was all over the floor, desks and walls and was heaviest where Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell suffered mortal wounds to his neck, eyes, face and brain."
Pera also recovered a piece of evidence, a fence staple identical to the type described by Larry Grathwohl, as shown below.
THIS ISN'T AS COLD A CASE AS ONE MIGHT ASSUME
In its 2007-2008 biennial report, the California Department of Justice confirmed the case is open and added that the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has been asked to analyze fingerprint evidence from the scene of the Park Station bombing. Page 16 of the report reads:
"In 2000, the SFPD reopened its investigation into the bombing of the Park Police Station and requested investigative assistance from the DOJ. The DOJ's Bureau of Forensic Services was also assigned to identify a latent print collected from the original crime scene."
We don't know at this point whose fingerprints those are. But we do know the FBI obtained the fingerprints of Ayers, his comrade Mark Rudd, and other Weather Underground members at a bomb factory in San Francisco (see final page of this PDF report).
According to FBI sources, Grathwohl's testimony was corroborated by another Weather Underground source, Karen Latimer, who apparently had second thoughts about her participation in the violent group's activities and gave her story to the police. Unfortunately, Latimer died sometime later under questionable circumstances.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THIS INVESTIGATION TODAY and WHY SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED?

Holder’s role was aptly described as “unconscionable” by a congressional committee. He steered [Mark] Rich’s allies to retain the influential former White House counsel Jack Quinn (Holder later conceded he hoped Quinn would help him become attorney general in a Gore administration); he helped Quinn directly lobby Clinton, doing an end-run around the standard pardon process (including DOJ’s pardon attorney); and he kept the deliberations hidden from the district U.S. attorney and investigative agencies prosecuting Rich so they couldn’t learn about the pardon application and register their objections.

There’s more. In 1999, over the objections of the FBI, the Bureau of Prisons, and prosecuting attorneys, Holder supported Clinton’s commutation of the sentences of 16 FALN conspirators. These pardons — of terrorists who even Holder has conceded had not expressed any remorse — were issued in the months after al-Qaeda’s 1998 U.S. embassy bombings, when the Clinton administration was pretending to be the scourge of terrorism. The commutations were nakedly political, obviously designed by Clinton to assist his wife’s impending Senate campaign by appealing to New York’s substantial Puerto Rican vote.

Equally noxious were the stealthy pardons of Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evans — Weather Underground terrorists associated with Obama’s friends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn — issued on the same day as the Rich pardon. Rosenberg and Evans had been serving decades-long sentences for bombings targeting American government facilities. With Holder again helping to circumvent the pardon process and to evade objections from prosecutors, the terrorists’ jail terms were commuted just weeks after the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole.

I did find this FR thread:

I thought he said that he was only 8 years old at the time, but I just did the math and he was 20 years old and btw, living just a few blocks away from Billy.

Corsi would up his credibility if he didn't take a sarcastic jab for an admission of guilt. I'm also not that convinced by Cashill's "analysis." Those famous "sea metaphors" aren't as frequent in both books or as rare in other autobiographical writings as his analysis implies.

But with both books open in front of me, I can't swear that the same person didn't write, or have a hand in writing, both of them. There's a similar flatness of style in each of them -- you might even be able to say a similar style -- and you could pick out passages that it would be hard to say definitely came from one book rather than the other.

But that's far from saying that the same man definitely wrote both books. There are enough people who convince themselves that whatever fits with their ideology just has to be true. I'd rather err on the side of caution, or at least hold back judgment a while, than be somebody who doesn't consider all the possibilities.

I agree with your cautious approach.

However, structurally, the two books, i.e. Ayer's acknowledged work and "Dreams of My Father" are so similar that it's actually more of a strain to assume that there were two different authors than not.

The vocabulary and phrasing are also eerily similar. Mighty fishy.

At least we know what he DIDN'T do there which was attend Columbia University. Or at least he attended it very rarely. I don't think any student in history was moved up the education ladder by putting in LESS effort than Obama. And what was Obama's reward for rarely attending classes at Columbia? Why, to be promoted to Harvard Law School where for doing NOTHING he was chosen to become President of the Harvard Law Review where, of course, he wrote NOTHING.
