So -- no endgame or exit strategy, a slightly imploring tone and the emergence of an Obama Doctrine: Got it.
As to theater criticism, President Obama's use of three teleprompters for his speech tonight underscored why his reliance on the TOTUS is so problematic.
Gazing left to right is not great television -- he wasn't making a connection. Only when the president stopped looking around and stared into the head-on camera at the end did his message sound urgent, direct and authoritative.
"To summarize, then, in just one month, the United States has worked with our international partners to mobilize a broad coalition, secure an international mandate to protect civilians, stop an advancing army, prevent a massacre, and establish a no-fly zone with our allies and partners," Obama said, gazing directly into the camera.

I see he left out the part about honoring the
Constitution.
I noticed the creepy stare into the camera at the end of his speech but just assumed he’d actually memorized the final graph.
Should have known better.
Oh yes, oh my, his gaze, yes, his magical gazing eyes.
I saw that gaze and within 2 seconds I was out like a light, I fainted. My wife fainted, my dog fainted. As I was going down I glanced out the window and I could see my neighbors had also fainted.
My chickens, ducks and geese fainted too!
After I woke up. I called 911 and learned that they too had fainted. Heck, our entire town fainted from this mans gaze.
DO NOT look into Obama’s gaze!!
All of my chickens, ducks and geese fainted too.
Guess the Bamster had that great big screen in the back so he could look straight out now and again..Imagine..3 teleprompters so he could be a real swivel head with nose up in the air and thumping the podium..ohhhhhhhhhhhh he was so presidential/S
I didn’t watch, but caught about 10-15 seconds while flipping channels.
Was there even a physical audience there? people, that is? Congress? Reporters?
If yes, pardon my ignorance (apathy, actually).
If not, doesn’t it strike anyone else as really bizarre to be looking constantly left and right if the ONLY audience is a single camera directly in front?
Fainting waterfowl? That’s some serious fainting.
The audience was military. Fort ___? in DC.
ok, thanks. makes a little more sense now.
