KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (March 30, 2011) Members of the Afghan National Army Special Forces killed four armed insurgents while conducting a patrol in eastern Kandahars Maiwand district, March 28.
The armed insurgents were seen as they were maneuvering and were quickly fired upon by the ANASF team, which works in the area alongside members of Special Operations Task Force South.
Two Kalashnikov assault rifles, one Enfield rifle, one PK machine gun and two handheld communication devices were recovered from the insurgents bodies.
Immediately afterward, the ANASF met with local elders to discuss what had occurred and to address their concerns about local security.
No civilian casualties or property damage resulted from the days events.
Sounds like they’re getting their act together...hopefully a bit more faster, please.
