When the birthday boy is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and widely acknowledged as 'The man who changed the world', you can expect some big names to turn up to raise a toast and help blow out the candles.
Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev celebrated his 80th birthday with a glitzy charity gala at the Royal Albert Hall tonight, attended by a host of VIPs, from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Hollywood ladies Sharon Stone and Goldie Hawn.
Stone acted as host for the evening, alongside Kevin Spacey, at a fund-raising concert featuring Katherine Jenkins, Shirley Bassey, Bryan Ferry, Mel C and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Gorbachev is part of the GREEN party....which is the COMMIE party.....so....I see he had his commie friends celebrating with him...
A little information that I’m proud of. My Dad and RR were friends before World War II, lost contact during the war, and after the war they contacted one another again. They stayed in touch and we visited Sacramento when he RR was governor and had a nice weekend with the Reagans. My Dad died in 1974 and we received a very nice card from RR and Nancy. My oldest brother received a phone call from RR on the occasion. He and Mike Reagan were little buddies as children.
I heard him give a speech a few years ago, and he’s still bitter about Reagan getting any credit for ending the Cold War, or the fall of the Berlin Wall.
He’s continues to tell the world he was the one who brought about change in the Soviet Union.
I wonder if President Reagan would be attending this event if he were still alive.

I didn’t appreciate it all at the time as I should have. I do now. I do remember that the Reagans were normal people and he and Dad laughed a lot.
