“So be it, I'm not ashamed of what I did... All these people that are complaining that this shouldn't happen, that these people who are starving to death otherwise shouldn't eat these elephants, you probably see them driving through at McDonald cutting a steak. These people (in Zimbabwe) don't have that option,” he told the station by phone.

Conflict with humans is the biggest threat to the African elephant, according to the World Wildlife Fund.

"As the elephants continue to raid crop fields, farmers are being killed while trying to defend their fields and elephants are becoming the source of resentment and anger by the local communities," World Wildlife Fund says on its website."

Instead of being a man and defending hunting, he is painting himself as a savior...coming from 5,000 miles away to save for the villagers. Please.

>He also explains that he only hunts in regulated areas and that in these areas there is no concern about elephants becoming extinct, according to MyFoxPhoenix.com.<

Well, there ya go. Regulated area. Why is Johnny Treehugger throwing a hissy fit?

That’s considered hunting? What a scumbag.

here’s something to ponder about GoDaddy (and I bought sites from them)..

They do NOT have a 1-800 # for customer service. It’s a 480 number and NOT toll-free. For a company that spent millions on Super Bowl ads and making Danice Patrick look like a Playboy model, you’’d think they would have the money to help out their customers on their questions.

“That’s considered hunting? What a scumbag.”

Doesn’t everybody hunt with a camera crew and dozens of helpers?

Especially since the locals have a habit of raiding the reserves in neighboring countries to feed themselves.

I had a dream last night that some Delta Forces guys were training on how to trip an elephant. It was quite a dream. I was taking notes. It was awesome!

Why doesn’t he just go to a circus, wait til an elephant walks by, and shoot it. Takes about the same amount of skill and he can save on travel costs.

I spent time studying wild elephants in Namibia. While it is true that they can sometimes be pretty destructive, how anyone could kill one of these intelligent and incredibly sensitive creatures is beyond me. And for those who will point out that elephants sometimes threaten people’s livelihoods, in a vast majority of cases elephants are worth much more alive than dead.

This is a little off the subject of this scumbag but people would not be starving in what is now Zimbabwe if the liberals in Europe and USA had not conspired to change the country of Rhodesia in the predictable nightmare of Mugabe Zimbabwe. Rhodesia’s people were not only well fed but they exported food to other countries and this provided foreign currency for their economy. No more. The catastrophe of this once beautiful nation has all but dropped completely out of the news. Where are all the fine folks from the World Wildlife Fund. I'm sure most of these people who profess to care for animals were in favor of changing Rhodesia into Zimbabwe. So how do you like this situation now liberals?

One elephant would make dinner for a whole lot of people.

“One elephant would make dinner for a whole lot of people.”

The money Bob spent to go there in his private jet, buy his preppy ‘hunting’ clothes and pay for an entire crew to film and guard him while he ‘hunts,’ could have easily fed 10 times as many people. If he really wanted to help them out, that is.

Oh, it was his own vanity hunt... I misunderstood, I thought he filmed somebody else’s hunt and it was a food hunt. That is pretty darn vain.

Just in case you didn’t know, Bob is a US Marine (Former, but always), as am I, so, disagree if you will, but at least give him the respect he has earned.

I don’t understand your post at all. I don’t know him or know how he did while in the military.
