It's my understanding that Democrats in Illinois are trying to pass legislation that would put this treaty into effect at the state level, even if the Feds don't ratify it. My spanking my children would then become a criminal act, and my children could then be stripped from me at will if anyone reported it.
This would be the trigger for me to move out of state. With their huge tax increases they are already making me think seriously of doing so. Does anyone know how likely it is that the Democrats in Illinois can get this passed?
