Apparently they're also getting rockets shipped in through Egypt. It's unknown whether the training includes the "don't fire celebratory rounds when there's a plane in the vicinity" section.

Why hasn’t anyone brought up Iran/Contra? I believe Oliver North had some questions to answer over that along with others. Amazing.

It’s good for me, but not for thee.

I'll take it one step farther. I believe the CIA recruited and armed these “Rebels” and have been training them for some time. The problem was when it came time to pull the trigger from the Executive Office, Obie wasn't up to the job. Now everyone is working like hell to ensure this doesn't become exposed as Obama’s “Bay of Pigs” moment.

So do I.

Our 'government' has been saying they are 'researching' ways to 'legally' arm the rebels.

This means they already have, and they know it was illegal, and they are trying to find a legal loophole before they notify the public.

Isn’t this how Vietnam started?

At the moment, I’m puzzling over the question of how you can describe arming the rebels with weapons used to fire into towns occupied by civilians as “protecting civilians”.

The discussion of “heat seeking” makes me think this guy calls every rocket a Katyusha, since I can’t find a reference to a true Katyusha that has heat seeking capability. They’re point weapons, used against fixed installations or troop concentrations. So, it’s possible he just got training in some sort of anti-tank weapon, instead. But if he’s really talking about Katyushas, it’s impossible to supply them without risking them being used in attacks against the loyalist occupied villages that also have large numbers of civilians.

If true, this report eliminates any remaining shred of credibility in our claim that we’re not taking sides.

Yep.

...and that “show no mercy” speech of Gaddafi's, which now appears to have mis-translated, bears a strong resemblance to the Tonkin Gulf incident.

Your right ,we have to explain further that our pilots might think it is a wedding party celebration, and attack it. - tom

They better recieve training, it seems that Kadafi was trained by non other than Hitlers #1 Commando, Otto Skorzeny’s Paladin Group.

Overnight, a NATO pilot who took tracer groundfire personally took out about a dozen rebels. They need to redefine their version of “partay”.

If I thought the rebels were the "good guys" in this civil war, I might be all for this course of action.

Guess that will now make it legal for the Russians and chinese to ship weapons to daffy. What in the hell would ragtags in pickup trucks use rockets for.

You are probably correct, how else do you explain the antiaircraft guns, in the pickups. The cia was planning on fighting daffys air force, did not understand that winning a war requires closing with the side shooting at you. Daffy’s people may have taken out some of the observers/spotters by accident it seems.

Daffy's 32nd brigade also recently received training from British SAS but this is seldomly reported. My guess is that Daffy played some kind of maskirovka on them while training, and they provide faulty intel for the attack on Libya.

AQ Rebels should first receive toilet training. They are no soldier material.

Just great. We are now training Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.

With Obama out , the NATO focus has shifted to Al Qeda.

Me too.
What I fear is that we will be helping to replace a
relatively docile & semi-retired terrorist with a
new and vibrant breed. Now, fast forward to the next
GOP administration and imagine the grief they will
be getting from the ‘Rats when they will need to put
US boots on the ground in Libya.
