Yemen president gets a stern warning from Obama press secretary
Los Angeles Times ^ | 4/6/11 | Andrew Malcolm

The United States strongly condemns the use of violence by Yemeni government forces against demonstrators in Sanaa, Taiz and Hodeida in the past several days. The Yemeni people have a right to demonstrate peacefully, and we remind President Ali Abdullah Saleh of his responsibility to ensure the safety and security of Yemenis who are exercising their universal right to engage in political expression. We call upon the Government of Yemen to conduct full investigations into these events and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

Nachum, this just made me laugh. I'll bet this statement really straightens the Yemeni guy out! And Obama didn't even do his own personal bullying. He delegated it to his flack.

I heard someone talking on the radio today about whether Obama is doing all of this harm to our country deliberately, or because he is incompetent. One man said all of the domestic mischief is deliberate, but the foreign policy fiascos are incompetence. I think I agree. Obama doesn't even know how to posture on foreign policy issues.

Incompetence? Maybe. Could be intentional.

They wanted this mess. Seems to me they did everything possible to make it.

But did they do everything possible to make this mess on purpose? Or did they do everything they possible could, and the mess is merely a byproduct of the incompetence? Would the mess be significantly different if they were competent? I think historians will still be debating the deliberately malicious vs criminal-incompetence-and-amateur-performance question a hundred years from now. What they won’t be debating is what a disaster Obama was for our country. It will be taken for granted.

When did he become king of the world? How does he get the right to tell leaders of other countries what to do?

Isn't that how he ran his 2008 campaign, as a 'world citizen'?
