America’s population of white children, a majority now, will be in the minority during this decade, sooner than previously expected, according to a new report.
The Census Bureau had originally forecast that 2023 would be the tipping point for the minority population under the age of 18. But rapid growth among Latinos, Asians and people of more than one race has pushed it earlier, to 2019, according to William Frey, the senior demographer at the Brookings Institution who wrote the report about the shift, which has far-reaching political and policy implications.
The single largest increase was among Hispanics, whose birthrates are far above those of non-Hispanic whites, largely because the white population is aging and proportionally has fewer women in their child-bearing years. The median age of whites is 41, compared with 27 for Hispanics, the report said.
As a result, America’s future will include a far more diverse young population, and a largely white older generation. The contrast raises important policy questions. Will the older generation pay for educating a younger generation that looks less like itself? And while the young population is a potential engine of growth for the economy, will it be a burden if it does not have access to adequate education?
The population of white children fell by 4.3 million, or about 10 percent, in the last decade, while the population of Hispanic and Asian children grew by 5.5 million, or about 38 percent, according to the report, which was based on 2010 Census numbers.

But now? With the way things are and have been going? No G-D way.
Are original Californio families "white?" Most would say so, and would strongly object to anyone suggesting otherwise.
Many Latinos are "white," and Asians are, for the most part, culturally "white."
These articles are written all the time, and they're really silly.
It's about culture, not ethnicity or skin color.

A disproportionate number receive additional welfare by having their children diagnosed as ‘fetal alcohol syndrome’, or ‘autistic’, or half-a-dozen other ‘disabilities’ that may double or triple their welfare check.
A fat and happy and nurtured population tends to increase their birthrate since there is no personal financial cost barriers to giving birth or providing medical care and schooling to their children. There is also no personal financial cost barrier to raising two families, ie., becoming pregnant again at 35 or 40 with more children, having raised the first brood resultant from early pregnancies when the mother was 15 or 16 or 17 years old.
Taxpayers are enabling this type of personal behavior.
How is bringing children into this viper pit productive? To provide more fodder for liberals? No thanks.

I would say more economic migration. The Midwest's current demos are the leftover of the Great Migration. I imagine if all the steel mills and auto plants had been in Montana and Idaho it would be reversed.
As for the Mexicans, I haven't figured it out yet. It seems kind of random. For instance New York has had a boom during the huge wave of illegal immigration, but they haven't much gone up there.
And they bypass New Mexico almost completely, but many stay in Arizona. Chicago's full of them, but they seem to have completely skipped St. Louis on the way.
And Red State, Blue State, I don't see much of a pattern there. Philadelphia is a sanctuary, but the Phoenix area has always been rough on them, yet more in Phoenix than Philly. Wyoming has a bunch also, and not exactly a Blue State.
I guess it doesn't much matter as the real estate to run to will fast run out. That's why you see people waking up to this issue. They're already commuting 2.5 hours a day. No where left to run.

Hispanics in the 70s used to identify overwhelmingly as White. When they realized the ethnic spoils game this radically reversed over the late 80s and 90s. As they say, when you subsidize something, you get more of it.
Culture is the extension of ethnicity into the physical world.
Chinese culture is an extension of the Chinese and dictates what China is like, India is India because it is an extension of Indians.
If people were wholly interchangeable we'd have never gotten the disparity we see around the world in the first place.
Why are we constantly measuring along racial lines. My son’s girlfriend and I were talking about her family a couple of weeks ago and she said some in her family go out with whites. I was totally taken back. I said why do you call us whites we are just like you, American. She went on to explain that she looks different and is not white but Asian. So I ended the conversation by saying we should look at our similarities which is we are Americans first.
I wonder if gang violence in their teens and twenties have a winnowing effect on those numbers?

The term "white," at least in one sense, has a lot to do with belonging to the dominant culture. Where we have failed in the West over the past forty years is in insisting that immigrants join the dominant culture.
More and more people are finally realizing this, hence the discussion of the failure of multiculturalism.

Thankfully your and my ancestors were made of sterner stuff. This world today is a cakewalk compared to days long ago.
Many, in fact most, wish to see their grandchildren be a similar physical manifestation of themselves in appearance. I don't see anything to be taken aback by in that.
