Wisconsin City Caught Destroying Ballots
Pundit Press ^ | 4/6/11 | Thomas Ferdousi

Posted on 04/06/2011 1:44:56 PM PDT by therightliveswithus

As if the situation in Wisconsin wasn't tense enough, it appears that one county in particular is going to a new extreme. This comes after word that there may have been voter fraud in the nonpartisan State Supreme Court election yesterday between incumbent David Prosser and JoAnne Kloppenburg.

For some reason one of the counties in the state is destroying ballots that 'were not counted' yesterday. Apparently this is a very bizarre and egregious move.

There is now a call for an injunction to preserve the 'discarded' ballots:

I have filed a Wisconsin Open records request with the City of Mequon demanding any ballot submitted but not cast in yesterday's election, including any remnant of a shredded ballot. We have received reports Mequon poll workers destroyed submitted ballots before poll closing time, demanding a driver’s license number from the absentee voter. This request is unusual and the destruction of ballots is of grave concern, given the closeness of the state Supreme Court election. I will consider seeking an injuction to back up my request if Mequon officials are not copperative [sic]. Mark Belling, April 6, 2011

I refuse to believe any results in this election now.

1) Call a new one.
2) Insure that all illegal aliens don’t vote (this insures that there will be far fewer dim-bulb-crat votes.

Anything else is a crime.

Period.

I agree, except that we don’t grow bananas... and we’re no longer a republic.

Mequon is in Ozaukee county. The AP has Ozaukee leaning heavily towards Prosser (72%/28%). Every ten ballots destroyed delivers a five'ish vote advantage to Kloppenburg. If 464 ballots were destroyed, and it can be proved, statistically this becomes a tie. Prosser's only hope is through uncovering voter fraud. If you find it, report it, my FRiends!

What can be done if ballots are being destroyed? What if thousands of ineligible college students voted? All this is water under the bridge, and won't affect this election at all unless a complete do-over is announced (not a bad idea if the fraud is really that bad.)

The Democrats have become so bat-shiite crazy that they don't even try to conceal their election shenanigans anymore. Maybe this will be the impetus for some common-sense election reform.

I think it would be a good idea if someone created a central listing of all reported fraud in this election. I hear everyone screaming fraud, but there are is no documentation. This is the first report I’ve heard where there’s some actual facts.

Ballots that were marked in error are turned in to the clerks, voided, and re-issued before they are fed through the ballot box. This is standard procedure. The ballots that were not cast normally are torn in half, or the word VOID written across them, when they are turned in to City Hall.

As I remember, a change was made last year about how to handle them. We used to keep them separate and turn them in at the end of the night. As I remember, in Nov. 2010 we were told to destroy them and then discard them before turning all the rest of the election materials back to City Hall.

In any case, the point is to be sure that they are not left around so that they could be merged back into the collection of valid ballots.

I did not work the election this year, so I don’t know who the clerks were told to handle the spoiled ballots.

Exactly. This is a long standing pattern with the Left. Don’t back down. Just do it.

Most of that cheese comes from hard working dairy farmers, who live in rural areas and are mostly Republican. You need to stop buying Illinois hot dogs LOL.

We have ‘non-partisan’ school board elections here. The candidates can’t run ‘as’ Republicans or Democrats, but they all run with endorsements of one or the other party.

Non-partisan is just another way of saying ideological in poli-speak.

If they broke the law, prosecute. It’s the only way we will come close to stopping this stuff. The Democrats will keep doing it, because they always get away with it.

I heartily agree. But in many instances, in many states, the type of fraud committed by Democrats covers its own footprints, by design. In instances where the number of ballots cast in a precinct far exceed the number of people registered to vote or who signed the voter roll, it would be claimed to be "disenfranchising" to those who did vote in good faith to disqualify the election - not saying that I agree with this desperate objection, as all those who voted for the "losing" candidate in a questionable election were, in effect, disenfranchised. Such are the weaknesses of a secret ballot.

What could help is uniquely numbered ballot forms which are accounted for by a central, bi-partisan, office. Only those ballots of a numbered range assigned to a precinct would be recognized as validly cast - no more ballots "found" off premises. Electronic voting would be another problem, but I think that needs to be done away with. A supporting document needs to be preserved as evidence.

I think you mean all or most shredded ballot must have been for Prosser.
