Donald Trump Planned 2012 run 8 year ago

I just found evidence that Donald Trump at least considered running in the upcoming presidential election 7 year ago. In December 2004 his organization registered the domain "trump2012.com":

A critical thing to learn about Trump would be what sort of SCOTUS nominees he would choose as president. Most or all of the social and other issues conservatives are leery about with Trump will ultimately be decided in the courts.

And he's not going to push non-conservative positions with a more conservative Congress. We need to see the platforms and key issue stances once we have some declared candidates.

As governor of California, Reagan supported abortion, and supported the state paying for it. As a private citizen Trump supported abortion rights.

Reagan became a pro-life supporter after many years. Trump became a pro-life supporter after many years.

What was he going to run as, a Republican or Democrat?

Trump has a few things going for him right now.

1. He is the ONLY ‘candidate’ that doesn’t sound like a politician. He comes off as a straight shooter.

2. He is right on China.

3. He is right on OPEC.

4. He is right on the birth certificate.

If he sticks to these issues, and doesn’t start parsing words (which he won’t), his suppor will likely continue to grow.

I'm surprised. About 0%.

Right now Trump is looking like a decent candidate, IMHO. But there's still time to make a decision and see who else comes forward to save the country. ANYONE but Obama! And ANYONE but a Progressive!

Why not wait and see what he has to say? Meantime he is the only person to challenge Obama.

Thank you for a little sanity on this thread. I would like to at least hear what the man has to say.....

We will find out everything we need to know during the primaries, things will play themselves out, assuming Donald really wants to run.

One thing Trump may be bringing out is the type of candidate the Republicans need to run against Obama. Two female acquaintances who are not married and not “political” have told me they would vote for Trump. They like his frankness and business sense. These are women who I thought were supposed to be Dem voters, looking for government to take care of them. Apparently this demo may be willing to vote for a strong male presence in contrast to Obama.....

(Mark Levin posted a link to this story on his Facebook page):

Donald Trump praised Nancy Pelosi as 'the best'

Yeah, that's what we need. Another go-along-get-along, reach-across-the-aisle type.

Well, he hated W and now he hates Zero.

I hated W for pushing illegal alien amnesty, and still hate him for calling us who oppose it as "xenophobes" and "nativists". His contempt for the rule of law is disgusting. So Trump's quote about Bush no longer concerns me. His position on abortion, however, still does. So color me on the fence.

I agree with you Lib-Licker. Trump was excellent in NOT accepting the front loaded lib premise of every question. Q What has Obama done well? A. Nothing except getting elected. Q. What is Obama’s Doctrine? A. He doesn’t have one.
I gotta say folks the press is going to have to change thier strategy with this guy. He seemed connected to the moment and can think on his feet.
He should appoint Sarah Palin as Energy Secretary and then she can run for President later.

You are a liar, Reagan was always pro-life. Reagan never supported abortion rights personally or abortion on demand as a matter of public policy. Period.

The 1967 Therapeutic Abortion Act that Reagan signed into law did not grant abortions on demand, nor did it provide government funded abortions. It was specific to the exceptions of substantial risk that would gravely impair the physical or mental health of the woman, along with rape and incest. The same three standard exceptions that most pro-lifers accept today. In fact, the health of the woman exception goes back more than 150 years in California law.

From the book, Reagan In His Own Hand, pages 380-385.

"I know there will be disagreement with this view but I can find no evidence whatsoever that a fetus is not a living human being with human rights."

I understand why you liberal/libertarian Republicans attack Reagan all the time. In this case, its to make a scumbag like Trump look better. Sadly, that is not possible.
