My brother, Rush, said on his program Thursday that Donald Trump, in taking the fight directly to President Obama, has provided a winning blueprint for defeating him in 2012.
Rush was referring to the way in which Trump — think what you will about him and his politics — has boldly challenged President Obama on a number of issues, including the notorious birth certificate fracas, obviously unconcerned about fallout from the liberal media.
The issue here is not Obama's birth certificate; it is Trump's aggressive, offensive posture in challenging Obama across the board. He rightly recognizes that America's financial condition is in shambles and contends that Obama's incoherent approach to foreign policy is making the U.S. a laughingstock in the international community.
Trump is not my candidate for a number of reasons, including that I don't believe he's been reliably conservative over the years, but I have no doubt that Republicans can learn great lessons from his direct, fearless approach.
The first application of the Trump blueprint should be the congressional Republicans' approach to the budget war, in both the short-term battles over the umpteenth continuing resolution and the battle over Rep. Paul Ryan's long-term budget proposal.
Too many Republicans have paralyzed themselves with fear about the potential negative fallout from a government shutdown over this year's budget. They believe Bill Clinton successfully pinned the blame on Newt Gingrich over the shutdowns of 1995 and 1996 and greatly damaged GOP electoral prospects as a result. They believe the liberal media will be able to crucify Republicans.
Let me tell you — in a nutshell — why I believe Republicans must not succumb to their fear and compromise on the $61 billion and why my conservative colleagues should not be squeamish about this path.

Some people will believe anything. I doubt the White House kitchen closes up and the President must rely on volunteers to bring in take-out food during a "shutdown."

It looks like Rush has his brother running a little interference for him.
Sure, there's lots of issues. But most of them require some understanding of what is going on. Many people are not sophisticated to understand that free medical care isn't free, to their neighbors at least.
But the birth certificate issue, not necessarily the natural born aspect, is so simple that virtually everyone understands it. Everyone understands it because at one time or another, they had to produce a birth certificate and they thought nothing of doing so.
I think it is so simple that at some point, Obama could be forced to resign if he doesn't produce at least a forgery.
The only complicating issue would be how many others would be seen as complicit in Obama's fraud, and what might they do to save their own skins.

Why does he look like he’s sitting at some peon’s desk? That doesn’t look the way the Donald’s office ought to look.
At the very least instead of going after Trump on this his detractors should be shrewd (I’m looking at all the Palin supports specifically but it really applies to everyone). Try something like this,
“It’s a huge distraction, I wish the President would just put out his long form BC and stop the Trumps of the world dead in their tracks. The country really can’t afford to be further divided by these silly allegations”
Or how about about this one, “Unless I’m proven otherwise the President of the United States was born in the United States but to the extent that it would help questions like this being asked of me I would hope he would release his Long form Birth certificate”

In the 2008 campaign, Obama showed that he has a glass jaw and cannot stand to be criticized. If Trump and others in the GOP stay on the offense and hit him where it hurts, he won’t be able to recover. I predict we’ll see more not-to-subtle middle finger head scratches from Obama during the 2012 debates.

I don't know. I'm more interested in the budget right now and how the liberals are bashing the republicans with hopes that they'll cave. I'm not into bashing republicans right now I'm into bashing the democrats.
The GOP has been like the Libyan rebels. Full of bravado and posturing, going into battle firing in the air for effect and providing themselves with false sense of strength and importance. Once they come under attack, they turn tail and run..............

The bigger issue Obama potentially has that more Americans would immediately recognize is the purported use of multiple and perhaps a fraudlent SSN!!!
Wait until The Donald begins raising this issue in the LSM. They will flip out.
