>> we get weeks and weeks of hearings which will expose the issues to the public.

ROFL! You’re kidding, right? WHO is going to bring the unvarnished truth to the unwashed masses, pray tell? ABCCBSSNBCNNMSNBC? That’s rich.

>> I think we are going to get MAJOR cuts in the 2012 budget for reasons described above.

And — again — I think you’re delusional. A (R) party that can’t make the little gains will NOT make the big ones, either. They are establishing themselves as not serious, not persistent, and not confident.

I see the NY Slimes is joining in the misrepresentation.

Conservatives Urge Boehner to Cut a Budget Deal and Move On

There is a difference between advocating a 'deal' so you're not painted the losers by the media and saying cut a deal and move on because we've got bigger fish to fry.

Problem is if the Dems are fighting us this hard over $30B imagine what they'll do when we're talking trillions of $ and turning medicare into a voucher system, block granting medicaid to the states, etc. It's only going to get worse. The House and Senate GOP need to show Obama & Reid the gun they brought to the fight. Knives won't get it done.

I agree....Coburn is one of my senators.....he’s hardcore conservative to say the least. No one wants to defund the troops....this is all politics at this point....

This is the only reason I would be willing to accept offering the bill without any policy riders, it will expose the Dems as unwilling to fund the troops for the rest of the year, if the rest of government is not funded also. The current bill before the house funds DOD for through Sept. and the rest of government for one week.
