Who was the loser, Obama or Boehner, that said: "This is the best deal we could get out of them"

Coming out of a deal, this is a losing statement. We'll know who lost by who uttered those words.

Why is it that too many Freepers always see the glass as half empty. Give me the Reagan optimism anytime. (I might add, Reagan had to compromise too). You will never get everything you want. You get the best deal you can negotiate, hopefully better than the party you are negotiating with. Boehner did this admirably. Geez, some Freepers are as big a downer as Glenn Beck’s shows lately.

I call this little skirmish a draw. The real battle starts tomorrow on the ‘12 budget and debt ceiling. We need total unification against the libs to save our Country.

Yes, Boehner is the winner in this deal. No one would have won with a shut down.

We need to get the Senate and WH, and then we can play Atlas better.

The best I can say about this is that I am not “totally” disatisfied with it...it wasn’t even supposed to be a budget the GOP had any say over as it should have been passed last year...likely with significant spending increases, so the fact that $40 billion got chopped from a budget that should have been all Democrat is just a bonus.

Our political capital would be better used on our own budget - the coming fiscal year. That’s where the real battle should be and will be, and the longer spent on the remainder of this current year’s budget the less capital there will be on this, including efforts to highlight more of the outrages in the Obamacare bill, for which they should start having an ‘outrage of the month’ - focusing on one piece of the legislation at a time through hearings, public forums, etc. to keep it in the news and keep it fresh from month to month by focusing on different aspects of the bill. The public gets fatigued fairly quickly with the same debate, and jumping from thing to thing causes the message to be unfocused.

Absolutely. The next fight - starting almost immediately - is for next year's budget.

When are they going to take a serious look at military? Gates and others say there are costly programs that need to be trimmed and streamlined. Also when are we going to look at big agriculture? How much money are the agrigiants like Cargill and Monsanto getting from our pockets?

ON the subject of social security, why are only the bottom 90% of salaries being charged a percentage. Perhaps some will feel it is unfair to charge against income above $106 (or some similar figures). But I’ll bet a lot of people who used to earn more than that, and now have lost jobs or been forced to take much lower paying ones, wish that money had been put away for them when they were earning their big salaries.

Of course America lost, but between only Obama and Boehner, Obama lost.

Unfortunately, dem-media will make it look like Obama won...big.

Pssssssst. It wasn't ever "put away". It was spent.

Nobody misses it -- besides the spenders. I guarantee.

. And Boehner's performance in this fight suggests that he'll represent us well in the next fight.

Who cares what the dem media hacks say . Since when did that matter . The media pimps lost big . No shutdown to bray on about and Princess O could not do the victory dance in prime time . If some don't find that to be a huge win , they ain't paying attention.

Isn’t it amazing how many people here ignore that without the senate voting for it and without Obama signing it, the Repubs can’t pass anything!

Bingo!

A win would be 1.6 trillion.

With a flat even percentile cut from every line item of the years fiscal budget in order to meet this.

Sorry about your guy, not just for you, but also for me and most of the FReeper Nation.

I still have hopes that my guy, way out west here in the western 75% of Kansas is a conservative. He was severely ridiculed by liberals, so he could be good.
