French Panel Debates Secularism and Islam

ARIS — France’s governing party pressed ahead on Tuesday with a controversial debate on the nature of secularism and the challenges of Islam, an exercise criticized by some in the government and numerous religious leaders and ridiculed as cynical by both the Socialist opposition and the far-right National Front.

Jean-François Copé, the leader of the Union for a Popular Movement, spoke Tuesday in Paris at a discussion of secularism and Islam in French society. Held at a Paris hotel in the presence of some 600 religious leaders, legislators and journalists, the debate was shunned by prominent members of the government, and its title was altered to remove any reference to Islam, resulting in the anodyne “Secularism: To Live Better Together.”

It was three hours of debate after two months of fierce political squabbling.

Sarko isn’t going to have a chance to counter MlP unless he can get the Muslims to stop killing everyone perceived to have insulted Islam.

Secularism cannot work unless there is tolerance for criticism and acceptance of rational debate. That happens, and soon, or France burns!

There are already too many places that the average French citizen cannot go in their own nation - areas that are controlled by Muslims. They are called “no go” areas.

Cultural Marxists and their political correctness, diversity and multiculturalism blather is going to destroy western civilization.

The socialists in France are morons just like liberals in America.

The Muslims have no desire to live in their multicultural paradise; they want to destroy it and supplant it.

If only they did invoke the Blessed Sacrament excerpt as a swear word. France has been a secular state for more than a hundred years and it has been downhill for them all the way.

France, like essentially every European country, has allowed secularism to permeate every fact of their lives. They have handed the muslim fox the keys to their henhouse and now they are reaping what they have sown.

Europe’s moral compass is irreconcilably broken at this point and their utter social decay and descent into the liberal abyss is an outcome as predictable as a sunrise.

I would not count the frogs out yet. They handle their domestic terrorist and terrorist suspects better than we do. They don’t put them in jail, they put them under the jail.

It won’t be very long when you’ll see some Muslim girl wrapped in the Stars and Stripes.

At least, France does not have a Muslim president.

A beginning of its decline can be traced way back. First to the failures of the ancien regime, which led to national bankruptcy which led to the Revolution, to international war and Napoleon. The wars decimated the French people and populationwise they never recovered. In 1790 France had about 25 million people. In 1914, about 40 million. In the meanwhile the populations and Britain and Germany sky-rocketed, the latter especially after 1871 and unification. The French peasantry stopped having children to avoid division of their holdings. This reduced the potential industrial work force and the ability to colonize overseas. It also reduced the available military manpower, so that in 1870, the small professional French army was overwhelmed by German numbers and efficiency. Alsace Lorraine was sliced off, further reducing their population at the same time they had to beef up their military to maintain their standing as a player in Europe and abroad. Then came the Great War, which again decimated the French.
