"The ban on gay men donating blood is being lifted because
there is interest in spreading HIV to everyone."

There, fixed it for you.

High risk group is pretty self explanatory. Risk yourself, not others.

Sounds expensive ,money to pay blood collecters, money to test it and then money to dispose of it. A really dumb idea.

This sounds like a really good idea.

After all, “equality legislation” is way more important than the extra cost and danger of allowing the highest risk group for HIV to contribute to the blood supply.

Well, with that line of thinking, folks with cancer should be allowed to donate as well as with hepatitis, syphillis, and ANY other infectious disease!

We wouldn’t want to OFFEND OR DISCRIMINATE against anyone, would we?

OMG!!!

This old quote is either from the French Revolution or from Napoleon: "To make an omelette, you must break some eggs."

They want to build a utopian society in which all perverted sex acts are normalized and acceptable. If that means that millions more must die from easily preventable disease [shrug] I guess we'll just have to live with it.

A Day of Reckoning will come for these people.

...being lifted because it was decided that the rule could be discriminatory and might breach equality legislation

We are now paying the price for the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. We can all agree that the type of discrimination against blacks was wrong and rightfully were eliminated.

The problem is they have carried the anti-discrimination mantra way too far.

Not all discrimination is bad. Survival requires each of us to be aware of our surroundings and to make choices which may in fact result in us discriminating against another individual or group of individuals.

Allowing a high risk group to give blood that may carry a non-curable disease just to be "fair" is insane.

I am beginning to think the entire United Kingdom is insane (or at least those that are leading them).

Good practices and safety be damned; we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

There is already a push to do the same here and I will not be surprised when it does. Where ever the UK goes the USA follows shortly thereafter.

I'm sure the transfusion recipient who contracts AIDS will be happy to hear that at least everything was politically correct...thank goodness!

In the US they will also “discriminate” against you if you have spent significant time in the UK (three months), or the rest of Europe (more than five) after 1980. This is due to the risk of Creutzfeldt-Jakob (Mad Cow) disease, for which there is no test.

The UK has similar restrictions on its blood donations; travel to or significant time in other countries (including the US) may prevent you from donating blood.

As HIV is a major risk, and homosexuality is a high risk for HIV, I see the previous ban as good sense. As usual false outrage overcomes good sense.

This makes perfect sense, coming from a place that is already working to kill itself and its culture by acceptance of being overrun by Muslim radicals.

Non-PC comment warning!!! Do not read if easily offended!!!

I will never forgive the queer butt-monkeys for AIDS/HIV and how it has killed many innocent people. A childhood friend that had hemophilia was one of their victims. He did not deserve to die to advance the perversions practiced by the faggots.

Here is a list of what many doctors refer to as “Lavender” diseases. They occur with extraordinary frequency among male homosexuals.
Anal Cancer
Chlamydia trachomatis
Cryptosporidium
Giardia lamblia
Herpes simplex virus
Human immunodeficiency virus
Human papilloma virus
Isospora belli
Microsporidia
Gonorrhea
Viral hepatitis types B & C
Syphilis
Did you also know that while homosexualists are only 1% to 2% of the population they account for over 50% of all AIDS cases?
Felching and rimming are not healthy lifestyle choices.

Yep, equality here is to infect more straight people!

Homosexual men are also at risk of passing on other sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis.

This is the real 0h0m0llah doctrine and policy of the BathHouse occupant. It's trickledown STDs and AIDS.

Forget about economics.
