We all know that since Barack Obama was elected, dissent has gone from being the highest form of patriotism, as those liberal bumper-stickers liked to remind us, to being downright unpatriotic, as we've chronicled here and here.
Robert Reich has now added another item to the list of things that are unpatriotic: resenting higher taxes if you're rich. Not that Cenk Uygur has to worry. He has classified himself as "one of us," rather than a member of "the rich." But can that be right?
The interesting dialogue went down on Uygurs's MSNBC show last evening. View video here.

Robert Reich: rich who resent higher taxes are “unpatriotic.” MSNBC host Cenk Uygur lumps himself with “rest of us,” not “the rich.” Ping to Today show list.
Who is “Cenk Uygur” and why should I care?
Wouldnt we love to see midget Reich’s tax returns, just to see if he selfishly sheltered any of his income in deductions, IRA’s etc?
Rich libtard talking head.

Net worth 3.5 mill
A clue to the clueless moron midget. Yo Bobby! If paying taxes is so patriotic, why the **** did America write a Declaratin of Independence and then start a war with England over it? Get a clue little Clinton man. A little history is good for the soul.
Rich Democrats either cheat on their taxes and if they complain about the rich not being taxed enough, why aren’t they sending voluntary “contributions” instead of taking every possible deduction. Remember the Clinton’s taking deductions for their used underwear?
FURR !
Remember, dissent is PATRIOTIC !
Dennis Miller shredded a caller yesterday over “tax the rich.” He asked the caller: “How much of my money can I send you to make you happy.” They called never did answer. “Tax the rich” became embarrassing for the caller once a name and face were put to “rich.”
For some reason, the words “Horse’s *ss” come to mind.
Welcome to the USSA, says Commissar Reich.
$3.5M at 2% safe return per year over inflation (yeah, where do you get that these days, even) is $70,000 per year in investment income before taxes. A tenured shool teacher in Wisconsin makes more than that. A tenured faculty member at Yale (Reich) makes more than twice that.
A slightly successful high ranking military officer living in DC for the last decade or so, can sell his house and could have a number not very far from that.
Someone needs to propose a bill in Congress that puts a line in the 1040A that says “have you ever publicly espoused higher taxes?, enter 10% of AGI on line 11b as additional tax”.
My boss created a very lucrative Endo Specialist practice.....the 1st 20 years of building it, he went into the office at 1, 2 3 am to see patients in pain.
For him, it's all about the patients, which they know and why he has so many committed patients.
Heck, they even call him if their toe or finger bothers them (he is very knowledgeable in all aspects of medicine). Of course he can't help them but can refer them to a doctor who can.
Tax on the Rich.....dont hurt the rich, they do react to them to minimalize the taxes....
however......taxs on higher income......do prevent movement from the middle class toward “rich”
Thanks, Crim: I’ve posted link at original NewsBusters article, crediting you.
This is the kind of thinking that put the private sector in the tank.
“why the heck is it such a sin to keep it and not be FORCED to hand it over to the government?”
No sin in keeping what’s yours. What is a sin is coveting what belongs to others. It’s all about envy, jealousy and covetousness.
