Pfleger addresses troubles on radio (blames conservatives, NRA for troubles)

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, the embattled pastor of Chicago's St. Sabina Catholic Church, told radio show hosts Tavis Smiley and Cornel West this weekend that he would look outside the Catholic Church if offered no other choice but to work at a Catholic high school.

Pfleger also said on the "Smiley & West" public radio program that he had been banned from speaking at events in the archdiocese and blamed pressure from conservative Catholics and the National Rifle Association for his most recent clash with Chicago's Cardinal Francis George.

I'm am amazed this guy hasn't been defrocked yet. He screams "NARCISSIST", and many times, when such extreme narcissistic traits are on display, there are "other" things going on as well.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, if at some point in the future we learn about other unsavory behavior from the good priest. It's a story that has been repeated plenty of times in the past.

Hey, Father - don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
The Church needs alittle “purification”...take Pelosi, Kennedy, Moran, etc. with you!

Of course the NRA is responsible for the deficit!

That’s part of the deal when you become a Catholic Priest.
If your Bishop tells you to shut up and avoid the spotlight, you either do it or get out. Father Coughlin’s infamous career as a radio rabble-rouser came to a screeching halt when a new Archbishop took over and told him to go back to parish work and keep his mouth shut.

I agree! Plus, I never realized a priest could adopt a child. He gives me the creeps.

Pfleger has been the exception to the rule when it comes to priest rotation. The Church will have a hard time finding a willing replacement. But don’t worry Rham will help find the proper solution.

Preaching the Gospel is supposed to be telling others the good news of Jesus Christ, not the Saul Alinsky talking points.

Pfleger needs a transfer to a nice parish in Mexico. Happens all the time to non celebrity priests. Poor parishes need a priest so bad that he’ll forget all about his soap box. He might even talk about, you know......Jesus.

I’m just surprised that the Catholic Church put’s up with this man. He has some serious mental issues.

Somebody should remind him that the Pope is pretty conservative on most issues.

Seems the church has just as serious issues since he's still around.

Why this commie pr!ck hasn't been excommunicated by now is beyond me.

The Church typically limits the tenure of pastors and assistants at specific parishes - even if the match is essentially perfect - to keep the human beings in those positions from turning into little demigods who become the focus of the parishioners, in place of the One who those priests are supposed to be standing in for,

Pflegler’s been at Sabina for decades, and he’s succumbed to exactly the human failing that is what was to be prevented by routine rotations - too many of his parishioners worship him, not their Lord, and he revels in it.

This guy is a world class fourflusher. He is truly living proof, at least to me, that there are more horses asses in this world than there are horses. They ought to send him to Antartica.
