According to the Chicago Tribune (not fake news), more than 700 people have been killed in gang and drug-related violence this year in Chicago. So who's Father Michael Pfleger choosing to ridicule? President-elect Donald Trump. From Father Pfleger's public Facebook page: (see comment below to view the page) (He's also accused the police of genocide, mind you.) You see, in Father Pfleger's world, it's play a little basketball with gang members who have turned the streets of Chicago into a war zone, but blame the GOP and police for America's problems. And the Trump street sign – horror of horrors!...
  • Plaintiffs In Chicago-Area Lawsuit Assert A “Civil Right” To Force Suburbs To Enact Gun Control Laws

We at the NRA have seen a lot of strange legal theories asserted by gun control advocates over the years, but a lawsuit filed on Tuesday by a group of Chicagoans still managed to distinguish itself in this dubious tradition by asserting that the plaintiffs have a “civil right” to specific forms of gun control. The basis of the lawsuit is a May 27, 2014 “study” published by the City of Chicago entitled, “Tracing the Guns: The Impact of Illegal Guns on Violence in Chicago.”The report finds that a disproportionate number of guns recovered from crime scenes in Chicago from 2009...
  • Father Pfleger does not Trust Black People with Guns

This is where racism leads. Father Pfleger of Chicago and other disarmists have filed a lawsuit against three municipalities outside of Chicago. In essence, that lawsuit says that black people cannot stop themselves from murdering and stealing, so people outside of Chicago have to keep strict controls on the sale of guns. Too understand the lawsuit, it claims that lack of strict gun controls has a disproportionate effect on black people.

Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church and other community activists plan to sue three Chicago suburbs to stop guns from getting into the wrong hands. The lawsuit will be filed in Cook County Circuit Court. It accuses Riverdale, Lyons and Lincolnwood of not having enough oversight when it comes to licensing and regulating gun shops.

One would think that Catholic priests like Chicago’s Rev. Michael Pfleger, an early supporter of Barack Obama and his push for gun control, would not be bearing false witness against one of his neighbors. Yet there he was standing in front of Chuck’s Gun Shop in suburban Riverdale, Illinois, to blame it, and other legal businesses like it, along with the National Rifle Association, for the murder spree in the gun-controlled progressive worker’s paradise of Chicago. Standing with the camera-shy Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence president Dan Gross in front of the gun shop,...

St. Sabina holds ‘Chiraq’ block party Posted 5:20 PM, June 13, 2015, by Erik Runge CHICAGO — Permit or not, Father Michael Pfleger’s St. Sabina block party was going to happen Saturay. The alderman who first tried to block the permit, because Spike Lee and his cast of “Chiraq” was involved, ended up changing his mind. The star of this year’s St. Sabina block party may be film maker Spike Lee, but it’s the name of his new film that’s really been hogging the spotlight.

Activist priest Michael Pfleger was urging churches everywhere to take time out of services on Sunday for some civil disobedience, as a response to the second case of a grand jury failing to indict a white police officer who killed an unarmed black man. “I think it’s a great opportunity to show a unity in church. The church has to be vocal in this,” Pfleger said. His call for action comes one day after a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict New York Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of 43-year-old Eric Garner. The grand jury decided...

At the July 20 Chicago “Justice for Trayvon” rally, which garnered somewhere between 5-10 thousand people (predominantly African-American), mainstream public figures like Jesse Jackson and celebrities like MC Lyte demonstrated alongside radical groups like the International Socialist Organization (ISO), the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (REVCOM), Occupy Chicago, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL). The event was one of hundreds sponsored by the National Action Network (NAN), run by Al Sharpton. At this particular rally, as was undoubtedly the case at most of the other Justice for Trayvon rallies across the country, the message was clear: the United States...
  • Why I’d Trade My Timid Black President for a White Guy With No Fear (Wants Fr. Pfleger instead!)

I woke up this morning asking God if I could make a trade. Similar to the NBA, when you have one player on the team who isn’t performing at the level you’d hoped, you try to get someone else who fits the criteria necessary to help the team find victory. In this case, we are playing for Team Black America. Of course I know that America is not the kind of country that would elect someone like Father Michael Pfleger as its president. Father Pfleger is the kind of pastor that becomes the nightmare of anyone who chooses to live...

Barack Obama has a long record of open association with racists like Jeremiah Wright, racists and anti-Semites like Al Sharpton, hatemongers like Michael Pfleger, and hate organizations like "Association" goes far beyond merely being in the same room with the person, as in "guilt by association." It means making public appearances with him, accepting endorsements and testimonials from him, and so on. As shown by the attached screen shots from, Obama accepted and posted on his website endorsements from Wright and Pfleger until he had to throw the two men under the bus. (We have added to the...

Churches all across the country paid tribute to slain teenager Trayvon Martin on Sunday, some by encouraging their parishioners to wear hoodies. But Father Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina’s Parish in Chicago, took things a step further. As seen on WGN’s “News at Nine” on Sunday, Pfleger spoke to his congregation with an unusual prop: Martin’s likeness was slumped at the church altar, complete with a red hoodie, a bag of Skittles and an Arizona Ice Tea. Pfleger encouraged his congregation to be proactive in their response to the shooting. ...more (w/video)...

The Rev. Michael Pfleger today joined the chorus of voices demanding justice in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an African-American teenager shot in Florida by a man on neighborhood watch. Pfleger told the audience at St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church to demand racial justice and called on officials to treat the death of all children as equally tragic. "America, we demand you deal with race," Pfleger preached. "We demand you protect our children." .... During the service today at St. Sabina, dozens of children and teenagers locked arms and circled the altar. One held a sign reading "We are...

“Father Pfleger lobbies against concealed weapons law,” WBEZ91.5 reports. Illinois is the only state that doesn't allow carrying concealed weapons. Father Michael Pfleger is pushing to keep it that way in Illinois, and lobbying against the national effort, too. In order to do so, Pfleger, nicknamed “Snuffy” at The War on Guns blog for urging an indignant mob of his followers to “snuff out” a gun shop owner, “held a press event” at St. Sabina Church. In spite of the Church’s tax exempt status, it would seem. As a registered 501(c)(3) public charity: The organization will not, as a substantial...

Chicago Police Chief Garry McCarthy told parishoners at Saint Sabina Church earlier this month that the easy availability of guns in the United States is the extension of a tradition of "government-sponsored racism" that began with slavery and Jim Crow. McCarthy -— like many urban police officials an advocate of strict gun control -- was speaking at a liberal, activist church whose priest, Father Michael Pfleger, drew national attention for mocking Hillary Clinton in 2008. "This is sensitive. You know, because everybody’s afraid of race. Have you noticed that? Everybody’s afraid of race," McCarthy, a former New York and Newark...

Rev. Michael Pfleger CHICAGO, May 24, 2011 ( - The Chicago priest famous for supporting pro-abortion candidate Obama has been restored to his parish for now after apologizing for remarks construed as a threat to leave the Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Pfleger was suspended by Cardinal Francis George of Chicago on April 27 after the priest said he would prefer to leave the Catholic Church than his parish, Saint Sabina, from which he was to be transitioned to nearby Leo Catholic High School. “If my remarks in a radio interview seemed to be a threat to leave the priesthood, I...

Ending a weeks-long standoff, Cardinal Francis George lifted his suspension of the Rev. Michael Pfleger on Friday after the two men met and Pfleger apologized for statements the cardinal took as a threat to leave the priesthood. Both men issued simultaneous statements, with Pfleger saying he would deliver a transition plan by Dec. 1 for St. Sabina Catholic Church, the South Side parish he has served for nearly 30 years. But neither statement clarified how long Pfleger might remain at the parish. For now, he'll be back in the pulpit for the 11:15 a.m. Mass on Sunday. It was George's...

The Rev. Michael Pfleger said Tuesday in a meeting with parishioners that if he is not reinstated as pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church by this weekend, he will begin to preach at other churches. In his first in-depth public remarks about his suspension by Cardinal Francis George, Pfleger told a group of about 150 people that he has received numerous offers to preach from churches throughout the city and the country and needs to get back to preaching. He did not specify at what churches he might speak or their denominations. Still, Pfleger insisted that the only way he...

I was going to start this column with a quote from St. Thomas Aquinas warning against obedience to church superiors “in all things.” But I am neither a theologian nor a Catholic, so I’d better leave debates about religious dogma to those who know it better than I. What I do know something about are the problems facing Chicago neighborhoods. Crime. Unemployment. Drugs. I have been writing about those things, or more accurately their consequences, for more than three decades now. And that’s why I understand a little bit about the battles that have been fought by Michael Pfleger, the...

Not used to being sidelined, the Rev. Michael Pfleger on Sunday peeked from behind an open door behind the altar and gazed on as Mass went on without him. It was the first Sunday service held at St. Sabina Catholic Church since Cardinal Francis George suspended Pfleger last week for threatening to leave the Roman Catholic Church if he is forced to become the president of Leo Catholic High School. The Rev. Thulani Magwaza, associate pastor at St. Sabina and now administrator of the parish, led the Sunday service, which focused on youth. He prayed for Pfleger and sang his...

A few years ago, in a fit of concern that my two sons were not being academically challenged by their neighborhood public school, my husband and I forked over the big bucks to enroll them in a Roman Catholic school much like the one I attended as a child. Talk about culture clash. My two sons came home complaining about the exact same ideologies that had vexed me so deeply during my eight years as a Catholic schoolgirl. It seemed like every dinnertime was exhausted by long explanations about the historical context of the religious beliefs they were taught and...
