Why is Sarah Palin STILL in the News ? [Eligibility Issue]
The Post & Email ^ | April 11, 2011 | One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet

(Apr. 12, 2011) — The shame of it is, at one time she actually could’ve had a chance, but she’s burned too many bridges to be anything other than a discarded has-been, a sad case of waiting in the wings hoping beyond hope that the front-runners will stumble and fall and she’ll be resurrected as a Miss Liberty Phoenix.

The truth is, she went down to Arizona and campaigned for the old geezer, the very same one who apologized for some announcer saying “Barack HUSSEIN Obama,” and then she kept quiet about the birth certificate while that’s all my wife and I talked about before the election in 2008.

I called one of the caucus members and asked her if she had any concerns about Obamas’ birth certificate in 2008, and she hung up on me. Now, two and a half years later, Sarah Palin may or may not jump on the “birther” bandwagon, now that it seems that it’s becoming a mainstream topic.

Sarah Palin is the continental divide. This “pissed-off” guy is on one side; I’m on the other.

Maybe she is not in the blogger’s image, but I’d like to know who is. Probably someone who couldn’t fill 10 rows in a high school auditorium.

Sarah will make and shake the next election. Anyone who ignores that will find out fast.

Why do people get so irritated by her? I enjoy her immensely. The lamestream gaspipes have hammered and hacked at her, yet she still stands tall. That should speak volumes. But some still want her to fit into every facet of their own personal agendas; when she doesn’t, they hate on her just like the blowhards.

Well put - and quite accurate.

Guys like the 'pissed-off VietNam vet' whine about Sarah Palin not jumping on the 'birther' issue fast enough but conveniently forgets that she has been out front on many other issues i.e. drilling for oil in the U.S., long before Donald Trump even thought about getting into presidential politics this year. As you state, for some, no one is 'conservative' or 'bold' enough except some no-name politician that has no money and no base but said the 'right thing' on some radio show last week. This kind of attitude of 'conservatives' rejecting the good for the unattainable 'perfect conservative' - and getting nothing (worse yet, another 4 years of Obama) is how we end up losing elections we should win. Like you, I respect and support Sarah Palin and have stated my reasons in these forums many times. I will gladly vote for her in my state primary and the general election next year. She can and will defeat Obama and Donald Trump will go back to making money and a lame TV show.

Why is Sarah Palin STILL in the News?

Because she puts herself out there before the public with her Tweets, Facebook posts, and TV and radio appearances.

She is laying low? She publicly backed Prosser in WI (another win). She also has spoken solidly on the budget issues - both the deal last week and Paul Ryan’s 2012. Before those she did the big trip to India, Israel, and then Florida for events. There isn’t anything major going on right now that would require her involvement, regardless of her plans. No primaries, no elections. The budget battle is filling the vacuum in politics, and she made her views known on that.

IMO, I think she is evaluating and working with her team. I think she is unlikely to jump in, but who knows. She would have to put on the campaign of a generation to win. She could be capable of that, but it is an uphill battle to be sure.

“In Palin speak, she’s reloading!”

Exactly! I hope she comes out with guns blazing when she is ready. Of all the potential candidates, she is the one I most admire and will support. I could still vote for some of the others. But there are also several I would not vote for - Huckabee and Romney being at the top of that list. Romney blew it today saying Obama’s origin does not matter. I guess the Constitution does not matter!!

So GO SARAH!

I agree with you. I also interpreted Sarah's “It's a distraction” retort as referring to the kinds of questions they ask her when she would rather be asked about policy.

“The only difference was that Joseph Kennedy had bought the Chicago vote.”

Well if you believe the “controversial” Kennedy mini-series running on Reelz channel, Joe Kennedy was innocent of this charge. It allegedly was Frank Sinatra who made this promise on behalf of the Kennedys “deliver the vote and Kennedys will lay off you guys.” When Bobby Kennedy went after the mob, Sam Giancana was STEAMED and called Sinatra onto the carpet. Sinatra allegedly pleaded with Joe Kennedy to convince Bobby to just go after the “little fish” instead of Mafia kingpins like Giancana, Marcello, Trafficante, Rosselli etc. Joe allegedly exploded in anger and told Sinatra he was on his own.

I don’t for a second believe this version of events, but I’m just telling you the party line from a documentary that the Kennedy family/libs screamed was totally biased against the beloved Kennedys etc.

FWIW, I was shocked that in the entire series, there might have been 1 mention of Ted Kennedy. Nothing about his winning a Senate seat or Chappaquiddick or anything. An ignorant viewer might be forgiven for thinking that “the Kennedys” only included Joe, Rose, Joe Jr., John & Jackie and Bobby & Ethel.

ROFL, talk about the kitchen sink!

Methinks the Hillary shill doth froth way, way, way too much (or got drunk with a thesaurus in their lap)...

Good thing all of this effort was made about someone with no chance to be president! :: grin ::

I agree, but I must add:

IIRC, the MSM decided to go silent on Palin in February. I suspect they liked the results so much, they have kept to that strategy.

As for tactics, the whole field of possible GOP candidates seems to have adopted them. I think they are all afraid of announcing their candidacy for fear of becoming a target of the MSM & Left. Except Trump, that is. He relishes the fight.

That is EXACTLY what the GOP needs in a 2012 candidate, an eager willingness to take the fight to Obama & Co., using EVERY weapon in the political war chest. That is why Trump & Christie are so appealing. Both relish the fight & intend to win every battle.

All the rest are weenies! They are running PC campaigns, fearful of attacking Obama; more worried about their hair & makeup. A McCain redux. They will lose to Obama with this strategy of polite non-confrontation. Boehner/McConnell have set the tone of compromise (with the devil). The GOP field of possible candidates are following suit. Anybody who rocks the PC boat gets attacked by others on the Right, mostly elitists.

Right now, there are only 2 Pubs I can think of that could verbally DESTROY Obama in a presidential debate: Trump & Christie. I would very much like to see that, for it is well deserved.

Actually, her last big stand was joining the far Left hate speech banners in denouncing the Supreme Court for upholding the First Amendment. She’s a mile wide and an inch deep.

Dropped off? she just had a trip to India, Israel and a speech in Naples, Fl 2 weeks ago. She was on foxnews this weekend. She weighed in on the budget battle telling the gop to stand firm of course they caved,

She was the only national candidate to endorse Judge Prosser in WI. I judge that won by only 7,000 votes. IMO her endorsement pushed him over and Gov Walker’s union busting bill are safe thanks to GOv Palin.

I don’t know where you get that she has “dropped off” the face of the world.

After everything Palin has done to promote the conservative cause in this country over the last few years, there yet appears to be a bunch of knuckleheads who badmouth her because she isn’t perfect on every single issue that they may hold dear. I have been called a “birther” myself, even though I don’t know where he was born; it may have been here or it may not have been. I just want to see where and by whom because the requirement is to be a NBC. I think Palin is on the same wavelength, and I also think you who badmouth her because of it are just a bunch of whiners needing something to complain about!
Thank you for your service in the military; now perform some service for your country today and quit the whining about our conservative patriots!

both trump and Chrsite are liberal republicans but you go with that.

Palin has been tearing Obama a new one everyday for the last two years. I have yet to hear Christie say one bad thing about Pres Obama.

you guys are stupid, why do you think she has gone under the radar, she is prepping for a run. She is going back to Israel for an “official” visit in the coming months and is getting things in line for an announcement. Trump will flame out when people realize his past statements and donations. Bachmann will also flame out because she is a stalking horse and not seriously running. I got a fundraising letter from Sarah PAC yesterday that mentioned 2012 in bold red letters six times. She is running.

Mrs. Palin gets to run her own race this time and I
believe she has a plan for it.
We can only wait and see, certainly had she jumped on
the BC issue the full weight of the media would have
come down on her. I think she has played this right so
far.

Palin 2012!

Palin hasn’t dropped off the face of the earth. She’s made her appearances on FNC and FBN. She gave a well-received speech in India. She visited Israel including a private dinner with Netanyahu. She has published a number of FB posts on a variety of issues.

What has happened is that she has experienced a semi blackout from the media. Any remarks she has made have been limited to only those that can somehow be presented as “controversial”.

Not only have the JournoListers had an organized attack on her, the Rovian Choir on the right has tried to do a number on her too. Look at how the NR has handled Palin-related news. There was not a peep about her Indian and Israeli trips, but did produce a snarky piece on her Trump comments.

It’s almost if the media has taken the old adage, “if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything” and changed it to “if you can’t say something bad about Palin, ignore her”.

I merely said Trump or Christie would Destroy Obama in a debate. Yes, they are both liberal on social issues. No, I don't like that.

Palin has taken way more than she has given. I wish she was tougher, quicker on the trigger, & brutal in her attacks, but she is not. A Palin/Obama debate would likely be termed a toss-up, while a Trump/Obama debate would leave Obama a weeping pile of goo on the stage. Again, I'd REALLY like to see that. Reagan did it to Carter, & it was a pure pleasure to watch.

Whether Trump (or Christie) is fit to be the GOP candidate for President is entirely a different matter. But, THE most important thing in 2012 is that Obama LOSES reelection. Anybody but Obama & his ilk!

If Pubs intend to run a moderate, Mr. Nice Guy campaign like Bush I, Dole or McCain, then Obama will win & America will be doomed to bankruptcy & runaway inflation. The only way the Pubs can win is to relentlessly attack Obama on his many & obvious flaws (criminality?). Yet, Boehner/McConnell are leading the way to wimpy cooperation with Obama, with the approval of the elitists.
