Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (-15, 49% overall approval WTF?)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 4/14/2011 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 04/14/2011 8:55:56 AM PDT by tatown

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15 (see trends).

Even though the president and a Republican Congressman have presented plans they claim will dramatically reduce federal spending, only 31% think it is even somewhat likely that the politicians in Washington will significantly cut long-term government spending trends before the 2012 elections. Only 6% think it is Very Likely. Most voters doubt that either side will present a plan that seriously addresses the problem.

Forty-five percent (45%) now worry the government will try to do too much to deal with the economic challenges facing the nation. Forty-one percent (41%) hold the opposite view and fear it will do too little.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

One needs to understand that MOST Americans did not want to see the government shutdown and they credit Obama with the compromise.

Most Americans are not as intuned with what is really going on.

However, this is a temporay boost in his approval rating and the rising cost of gas and inflation will eventually take a toll which hopefully Obama cannot bounce back from.

Maybe 2008 was not an aberration but an omen?

2012 will be the most important election in our lifetimes. If this Marxist, Anti-American pig wins, then it is checkmate for our Republic. He will unmask his rabid, vite hatred for all things American, for white Americans and for Capitalism.

I pray enough Americans wake up There is a point at which Liberty is so threatened by government, that no election or law making can restore it; For those in power have no incentive, nor desire to even speak of Liberty.

After such time, only a Second American Revolution can save this Republic -- nothing else will work. We are very close to that point.

The average IQ in the USA is 96, thanks in part to the influx of low potential, low achieving undocumented democrats.

Half the population pays little or no taxes and get the great majority of the government goodies.

So why is it hard to understand the concept of a “Roman Circus” meaning Obama is feeding the masses what they want at the expense of the minority that pays and supports not only for the function of the USA but also for a huge percentage of non-contributors.

All of this has been foretold by Tocqueville and RA Heinlein.

‘Bread and Circuses’ is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader—the barbarians enter Rome.”

— Robert A. Heinlein

Does this reflect Obama regaining some support from the far left?

Barack Hussein Obama could sign an executive order that banned Christian Church Services as hate speech and 20% of the people in modern America would cheer him on.

Thanks..I’ll accept your stats..I could well be mistaken..however, taking yours as correct..it’s obvious that 50%+ of those who “strongly support” Obama are black

A) Laymen see him as getting congress to settle and avoid a shutdown so he appears competent

B) Many, like me, are absolutely disgusted with the GOP. Will I go to the booth and vote straight GOP-yeah, I suppose. Do I see any point to go all to make sure the GOP gets the majority of both houses? No.

I used to think that was an automatic reset.

Now, looking at the middle east, tiannamen square, vietnam, cuba, just dozens of examples....the "revolucion" always seems to go toward the leftists.

It seems that just because France wanted to hurt Britain and Britain was hurting for money that they just happened to give in to the good guys.

I don't see how that happens again.

“WTF” - that seems to be the reaction to everything Obama does. In keeping with his “Winning the Future” mantra, he should make his campaign posters just the “hope” artwork with “WTF” underneath.

The only way it will have any effect is if we elect more Tea Party candidates. They are not enough in number yet to force Boehner to actually tackle the fiscal disaster. We should do what we did in 2010 --- starve the RNC and send whatever we can to individual candidates around the country. We need more Bachmanns, Wests, Mike Lees and Rand Pauls to dilute the RINO contamination.

Absolutely. Instead of using the weapon they have...total control of spending...they are engaging in a suicidal 10 year plan that will never happen and reloading the Democrat field guns for them. How stupid can you get. The Rats must be having Parties and throwing confetti in the air. They will have a field day.
The GOP should defang and eliminate the Federal Agencies that have a stranglehold on the throat of American Free Enterprise. But Nooo. They claim it is only 12% of the spending. Stupid Stupid Stupid. They are.

Trump has it. Attack him in the Achilles Heel. Eligibility. He will easily blow away the stupid Republican PR effort.

Trump, to his credit - has suggested he’d eliminate the Dept of Education and the EPA (the EPA I’m not 100% sure of, but he did say DoE).

That’s the type of stuff I like hearing.

Once the GOP controls everything (or at least 2 of 3) then we can have a deeper discussion. Right now though they hold the purse strings and are effing up.

I agree we don't want it as uprisings as you describe. In no way should the people rise up in violence and bring down the boot of government on their throat -- that is what the left so desires.

I see the only viable option is for a number of States to get extremely determined and assert 10th Amendment rights. The States need to gut the Federal government's non-Constitutional powers. That would entail a number of States with leaders that have the Warrior mindset and drive, and constituents that overall back them.

Of course, I see no State leader that rises to that level. I fear the most likely path is down a decaying socialist hellhole. Our Republic will continue to decay at the hands of Statist government parasites. My reading of history convinces me that once Liberty is mostly gone, you can't "legislate" your way back to Freedom.

I dunno if it's really that bad yet. I think you're right, "legislation" always goes in one direction....restricting freedom.

"Education" recently has also headed us in that direction. But I'm certain it can work in the other direction too. Not sure how to get through to kids tho. Maybe the "Atlas Shrugged" movie this weekend will be a good hook?

Freedom loving parents will have to pull their kids out of the Marxist indoctrination camps call “public” schools,
or else we’re cooked.
