Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (-15, 49% overall approval WTF?)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 4/14/2011 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 04/14/2011 8:55:56 AM PDT by tatown

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15 (see trends).

Even though the president and a Republican Congressman have presented plans they claim will dramatically reduce federal spending, only 31% think it is even somewhat likely that the politicians in Washington will significantly cut long-term government spending trends before the 2012 elections. Only 6% think it is Very Likely. Most voters doubt that either side will present a plan that seriously addresses the problem.

Forty-five percent (45%) now worry the government will try to do too much to deal with the economic challenges facing the nation. Forty-one percent (41%) hold the opposite view and fear it will do too little.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

If you track poll numbers on Real Clear Politics, Rasmussen has the highest overall approval for Obama. How can he have him 5 points higher than Gallup who only polls 'adults' and not 'likely voters'??

Beyond belief...

He won his liberal base back by going out and singing the same old Progressive song about “tax the rich” yesteray.

In 1986, 1991 and 1993 the Progressive Democrats in Congress made the same pledge 0 did yesterday. Give us more tax money and we will cut the deficit. In 1986, 1991 and 1993 Taxpayers coughed up the money and the Congress increased spending exponentially and the tax payers got more debt then ever.

0 is merely signing the 4th verse of the same old DC Progressive song. It is just another lie.

How about this time we try something that has NEVER been tried by DC, we try to balance the budget strictly on budget cuts with NO tax increases?

Giving more tax money to DC is the equivalent of giving a heroin addict free drugs thinking it will “cure” his addiction

I predict the mainstream news media will outdo itself in propoganda and lies department this campaign season.

They really have their work cut out for them, putting lipstick on Obama's first term PIG. Get ready for some epic whoppers.

Does this reflect Obama regaining some support from the far left? There’s always more in these numbers than meets the eye.

Uh. Maybe because "Americans" actually go for his Shinola Sales tactics, and the "Americans" you romantically think of in your head, who voted for Reagan, etc, are pretty much gone? Maybe?

Maybe 2008 was not an aberration but an omen?

He could be re-elected. It will mean the end of America. That is the bad news. The good news is that it’s not going take much longer. We are going to have to apparantly hit rock bottom before we face the grim reality that socialism is bad.

I look for food riots here in America before Comrade O’s second term is out.

"23% strongly approve.."

If 17% of the voters are black, and 95% of them probably "strongly support" Obama..then other than "his people"..nobody else really likes him..

Yep. Less than half of the people working. Gas over $4. Three wars. Home values dropping. Food prices skyrocketing. People having to put off their retirement.

Sorry, I don't believe it.

Hence Trump’s point that the GOP was “going out on a ledge”.

The number of American voters who are black is well below 17% of the total. I don’t know what the actual percentage is but the general population is something like 12% black and black voting turnout is lower than that for whites.
