Thirteen years after Congress overhauled the American welfare system, 57 percent of immigrants with children those in the country legally or not use at least one government, welfare program... .
In comparison, 39 percent of native-born Americans with children are signed up for welfare, the report found.
In Texas,.... 70 percent of illegal immigrants receive welfare assistance, with illegal immigrants generally receiving benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children
Overall, Texas tied with California and New York for the second highest immigrant welfare rates behind Arizona.
Texas showed 61 percent of households headed by an immigrant utilizing at least one program compared to the 42 percent of Texas natives on welfare.
"This is partly due to the large share of immigrants with low levels of education and their resulting low incomes
Illegal immigrants with children primarily use food assistance programs and Medicaid, with little or no cash or housing assistance.
"Say the name, (for example) 'Women, Infants and Children food program,' are politicians really going to cut this?" Camarota said.
The report showed illegal immigrants primarily use food assistance and Medicaid with little cash or housing assistance

Tax payers pay up!
Seems everyone is moving to Texas!
I guess that's that "better life" the commie liberal 'RATS are always telling us about.
Surprised it’s not closer to 100%.
You reap what you sow.
I can’t say that I blame them. If our goberment is dumb enough to give it to them, they will come here and take it.
Aren’t SS numbers required to apply for all welfare?
“In comparison, 39 percent of native-born Americans with children are signed up for welfare, the report found.”
THAT is by far the most horrifying part of the report. Bye, bye, USA.
It likely is. The government lies consistently when it comes to millions of these illegals compromising and undermining our system. Been to an ER lately? They are a *major* factor in the health care collapses and skyrocketing costs of health care for U.S. citizens.
It is, and you're paying for them to have millions more anchor babies...
Nothing like importing a permanent underclass. It adds so much to our society.
The border gates are wide open, invite them all in!!!!
Then we can give all 20 million mortgages as welcoming gifts!
Imagine what a Mexican ER is like. I bet you that if you don’t pay cash, or have a Mexican insurance card, you don’t get seen.
It is? Hmmm..
In 1994, California's historic Proposition 187 would have prohibited illegal immigrants from using health care, public education, and other social services in the U.S. State of California.
California's voted for it overwhelming and it won big in a free election only to have the Federal Government working in concert with their state government co-conspirators burn their ballots and declared their free election illegal...
Who exactly is reaping what they sow?
And why is a conservative state, such as Texas providing tax paid assistance for so many illegal aliens?
‘Arent SS numbers required to apply for all welfare?”
Not in California. Ask 0bama’s illegal alien aunt. She knows how to do it.
Back in 1980 I was visiting Tx from my native Ohio.
I was out on a construction site.
An old Texan told me “son if we had welfare like you folks up north, half the population of Mexico would move here tomorrow.”
Apparently he was correct.
They give our tax money to illegals, but want to cut our Social Security after working all our lives and paying into it.
I don’t mind reforming it, but why should we have to work more years to support the pensions of Federal workers who get to retire much earlier than the public sector with much better benefits. Why do we have to pay for illegals to live off the system?
In Texas,.... 170 percent of illegal immigrants receive welfare assistance...
Now, there I believe it.
