Superman Returns Director: "I've always found the myth of Christ compelling and moving"

"I've always felt that the origin of Superman is the story of Moses -- the child sent on a ship to fulfill a destiny," said Singer, a producer on the upcoming X-Men: First Class. "And this was a story about Christ -- it's all about sacrifice: The world, I hear their cries. So what happens? He gets the knife in the side and later he falls to the earth in the shape of a crucifix. It was kind of nailing you on the head, but I enjoyed that, because I've always found the myth of Christ compelling and moving. So I hoped to do my own take, which is heavy s--- for a summer movie."

Well, this ***hole doesn't have to worry about ever getting me to go see his "movie". Ain't gonna happen.

Reminds me of when I signed up for a course in Religious Studies as a college elective. My family had always attended church regularly and I figured it would be an easy A and I might even learn something. Imagine my surprise when the first lecture was about the “Mythology of Jesus” and the professor went on to explain how Jesus never really existed, but was a composite of the teaching from various Jewish sects along with a dose of Greek and Roman “ Hercules - son of the gods” mythology. Needless to say I realized that I wouldn't be a good fit in this class and switched electives before I was locked into it.

Well, with this fool directing it will take a miracle for this film to be any good.

The Christ is a myth to billions. Our Lord and Savior is a myth to millions that claim to follow him. Jesus the Christ is a myth to anyone that does not have a personal relationship with Him.
I know that this person may have tried to impugn our Savior’s very existence. The world mocked Him then and it mocks Him still.
As for me and my house, we serve the risen Lord.

He’s doing this new Superman too? I thought Chris Nolan had this new one. Little fruity Singer ruined the last Superman as he preferred his version of Superman to become a super dead beat dad. They should not let him anywhere near Superman ever again.

He’s not directing the new one. I mentioned his directing the most recent one in the title so people would know who he was.

I’m glad I live in these current times. So many discoveries in the last 40 years have substantiated over and over again that the Bible is indeed an accurate historical document. As a result of this repeated verification, I find it more and more impossible to believe that Jesus was “just” a myth.

After the mess he made of the last Superman movie I’m content with ignoring his existence.

If it so compelling and moving, it probably isn't a myth

Isn’t Singer a Jewish name? Lots of Jews believe Christ is a myth. I mean, if they didn’t, they’d be Christians, wouldn’t they?
Granted, it’s rude to say.

“Granted, it’s rude to say.”
Isn’t it rude to say that the Christ was a myth?

I love Superman Returns (I didn’t when it first came out-but then I caught the obvious Christ-like references) and now..I love that move (ever since I saw it on the tube several years ago)!
(I don’t care who made it, the Christian references are undeniable-and ~may~ lead some to him)!

“Sodomite jackass.”
Yeah, but he’s a brilliant, really really smart, bright, intelligent, intellectual genius whose brilliance is not understood by all those stupid, uneducated, knuckle-dragging Christians out there. (Those Christians MUST be absolutely stupid to believe that a myth existed and still does.)

Some day he may realize that this “myth” is real (the way Tolkein pulled in CS Lewis). At least that admiration of the Incarnation and of Christ’s sacrifice is in him. There’s hope he can finish the journey.

Jon 15:19 - If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
It is only to get worse....because, as Christians, we live in contrast to the desires and laws of men....and as the Lord has told us....it will get far worse before His return....
