Donald Trump, the billionaire White House waters-tester...gave $2,400 in 2009 to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid...has also given $8,900 over the years to House and Senate campaigns of Sen. Charles Schumer...also gave $4,800 to former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist‘s 2010 Senate campaign.

Trump’s appeal is that he is giving voice to much of what conservatives think—Whether he actually believes it is another matter altogether.

What’s noteworthy to me is that a few years ago, I think around the time Specter jumped back to the Democrat Party, Rush declared that he would no longer open his show to politicians/candidates as they are opportunistic users.

Trump giving to both parties has been discussed over and over again here on FR. In the business world, it is called good business practices and Trump is not the only business man to give to both parties. Like you said, real world. It gets tiresome reading the same comments about the horror of it all. I do hope enough people will focus on what a candidate plans to do to fix this country and then realistically evaluate whether that candidate has what it takes to implement his/her plans.

Donald Trump giving campaign donations to leftists such as Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer are fairly well known. These are more reasons that I just do not trust Donald Trump and do not, for a moment, believe he holds conservative values. I have no idea what Trump's game is. A third party run to draw away Republican voters and hand the election to Obama? Muddy the primary election waters and draw off primary voters from a candidate that can beat Obama? Sheer narcissism? I don't know and frankly, I don't care what Trump is up too. For all I know, Trump has abandoned his liberal leanings and is a dedicated conservative with no agenda other than to defeat Obama in 2012. I doubt that's his motivation but, again, I just don't know. However, because I wouldn't give a dollar 'for food' to a panhandler with alcohol his breath, I won't give my trust, much less my vote, to Donald Trump, who has a past record (campaign contributions to liberal Democrats, public statements bashing Republican presidents G. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan) that indicates Donald Trump is a liberal, not a conservative. Sorry Donald, no deal.

I’m not very enthusiastic about Trump as a candidate. He’s endorsed Schumer, he was pro choice at one point, and some of his financial deals have been a little shady. His only purpose seems to be to draw support away from serious conservative candidates.

You three seem to embrace the idea Trump has devoted monies in just the last year to die hard ENEMIES of conservative principles—even when the tide of the nation was turning against the liberals.

We all know there are business interests that must be attended upon—and we also know there are reasons not to embrace someone who thinks of those interests above the good of their nation.

I told my sister the same thing. What has he given to both sides? Unfortunately, to have a successful business, you currently have to bribe the candidates. Hopefully, that will change, but that is the cost of dealing with slimy politicians.

Trump might be in it to help Hillary, but if he thinks he can win, I think he would torpedo her.

Regardless, the Trump we know or don’t know is better than the Obama that nobody really knows.

Well, my wife and I are in business to make a payroll, so that makes us Patriots. And we know better than to donate money to some politician who clearly has a track record of working against us and our business endeavors. Here in Virginia, we knew not to give a single dime to either Jim Webb or Mark Warner because we knew that both of them would simply tow the Dem line and vote in all sorts of legislation that would only hurt our business.

We were right. Both of those idiots have been nothing more than lap dogs for anyone with an anti-Conservative agenda. We knew this long before either of them took office.

I find it strange that Trump didn't have the same insight that we did and I find it hard to believe that anyone who claims to be a Conservative would donate to politicians who are clearly opposed to the Conservative philosophy.

Maybe if Trump came out and publically admitted that donating to hard-core leftists was a mistake and simultaneously advised all Conservative business owners/CEOs from making the same mistake that he did, then maybe I can take him a least a little more seriously.
