Donald Trump fired back at Karl Rove on Tuesday for labeling his possible White House bid a “joke,” saying the one-time senior adviser to President George W. Bush “should be ashamed of himself” for the role he played in pushing an agenda that turned voters against Republicans and paved the way for the Obama presidency.
Mr. Trump, the billionaire real estate developer and reality-TV-show star still weighing a 2012 race, said in an interview that the Republican brand was so tarnished after the Bush-Rove years that even “Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have beaten” President Obama in the 2008 presidential race.
“Honestly, Karl Rove ought to go back and start thinking about other things because what he did is, he gave us, indirectly through President Bush, he gave us Barack Obama,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated “America's Morning News” radio show. “In all fairness to [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, nobody could have won that election because of what happened with Rove’s policies or Bush’s policies.”
In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Trump also came out strongly against raising the federal debt ceiling, saying the debate over whether to raise the government’s borrowing limit was “the strongest negotiating point the Republicans have.”

The Donald has a lot of weaknesses, so I think much like Levin and others this week are doing, the stronger candidates will be able to peal back the layers and show that he is not a conservative ideologue. Now, that being said, we can do a lot worse if it came down to it. Warts and all, he brings some interesting things to the campaign.
I do agree 100% if he did go third party, we are done in 2012. I have to hope that he doesn’t do that, and that he supports a good candidate on our side to help get rid of Obama. We shall see. I am not convinced of this whole idea of Soros’ involvement. I think Trump is serious about this because of the status of the country. Both he and Ivanka have been very outspoken the past 12 months or so, and Ivanka is married into one of the biggest Dem supporters in the country, so she really thinks Obama is doing damage to speak out.
Putting my actual combat experience aside, what I am saying in regards to that MSM thing coming, time will tell, but have you ever noticed how the MSM always tests the water before they jump in? This CNN announcement is the key and you will see and hear it again very soon. I don't like dirty politics either but this election will set all the records.
He could even beat obama if he manages to keep from self destructing during October.

Exactly...I'm not sure why so many Freepers are trying to run down Trump now, when he is making significant headway in the BC issue...AND making strong, solid points on China, OPEC, etc. There will be plenty of time in the primaries to dissect Trump's policies and opinions, but for conservatives to be playing useful idiots for liberals and discrediting Trump now is just senseless.
