Because.... this is some post from FB that some of my friends made.
Craig, sounds as if the Kansas Krazies were handled well. Kudos go out to the people from Rankin County.
A couple of days before, one of them ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his ass waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

And
Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.
Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any cars that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.
A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.

Word is that the Westboro crowd never showed up and that none of this happened.

What is most notable about Sgt. Rogers’ funeral in Brandon, however, is what didn’t happen.

OUTSTANDING!

Because they don’t want to end up buried in a levee, that’s why.

I got an e-mail from my s-i-l who lives in Jackson. She said that the Westboro folks gathering to drive to the cemetery were meeting in a vacant lot near their motel. The owner of said lot called the police to complain they were trespassing. The folks were arrested and taken to the station, but because so many officers were on the funeral detail, there wasn't anyone to process them, so they had to sit there until AFTER the funeral was over.

I guess the Westboro folks planned on Mississippians being stupid. Big mistake.

This is a terrific story. The Brits should read and take note, considering the announced intentions of anti-British Muslims to disrupt and despoil the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

It's a long-standing legal principle that the police have no obligation to protect any individual person or group -- their job is to protect society as a whole.

This means that the police could have just displayed no interest in being anywhere near the Westboro protesters, and let nature take its course.

Laughing so hard I almost fell over:

The above should be headline news everywhere in the country
