2012 Vote: Basest Human Instincts Vs Best Human Instincts
April 20, 2011 | Vanity

Barack Obama has put his 2012 presidential campaign into high gear – calling on his dependants, his base, to come to his aid (and theirs). He appeals to humanities’ basest instincts because he cannot take his agenda forward with honesty or integrity – appeals to humanities’ best instincts will not advance his cause. He is a small man with his nose in the air and lies on his lip and cynicism in his heart, and he plans to win in 2012 and finish the transformation of America into a socialist state.

It’s as simple as that.

We do not want to bring a knife to this gunfight. We do not want a plutocracy. We do not want presidential peerage. We do not want royalty. We do not want our leaders “tapped” by our betters or promoted by “rights” of succession.

We are done with that.

Standing beside Obama in his battle for America are public sector employees (teacher unions hold a special distinction in this group), university fiefdoms of liberal indoctrination and their impressionable useful idiot students, mass media outlets, popular culture makers and distributors, lawyers, activist judges, elites, environmentalists and the millions of emotionally stunted and economically crippled Americans that have lived under local Democrat control for generations. Toss into this mix millions of illegal immigrants and the U.S. children born to them, and you have a lot of “money” and “muscle” to back up Obama’s bid for a second 4-year term as America’s chief executive. They are ready to rumble.

Our numbers are larger. Our pockets are deeper. Our instincts are more powerful and we have a cause we are willing to fight for. Our first order of business: Who is best to lead our conservative charge?

I don’t see a lot of arguing on the Democratic Party end of the street. Obama’s minions are pleased with him and his determined agenda to stay focused on their needs and grievances, their grasping dependency and his willingness to blame the other guy for their (fill in the blank). He in turn depends on their lazy intellectual curiosity about whether their endless social justice demands will destroy even them in the end. Obama holds them to no accountability. He carries their victimization status like arrows in his arsenal of demanding self-interest groups. They are the people the Left has groomed, the faceless street mob that they depend on but in fact, despise.

If we don't want to be the cause of our own defeat at the polls, we must immediately focus our opposition energies on Obama and his political handmaidens, and not each other. Supporters of liberalism easily coalesce into a voting borg. It saves needed campaign money and get-out-the-vote muscle. Because their leadership knows their numbers are not naturally overwhelming, they work aggressively to take out any effective conservative leaders as they emerge.

We need a candidate who is quick and grounded in conservative principles -- someone happy to shout it from the rooftops. We need a candidate that calls on us to be better and stronger, not weak victims with no recourse but dependency. We need this candidate because they will rally the country and bring out the money and muscle to fight a 2nd Obama term.

The Left has already identified the conservative candidate that can beat Obama.

Will we?

I like Michelle Bachman but she’s missing the Sarah Palin “thing.” That “thing” that the Left instinctively sees will destroy their White House bid. They also see her coattails. Palin is the one to fire up the vote and take the White House for conservatives. She appeals to the best in us. She has the courage of her convictions. She tells the truth without being "mean-spirited." She has the ability to bring the country together behind her platform and we need to support her bid.

Let’s roll!

A lot of people are talking about it. I don't know how to define it. Whether it is like an aura or something else, I call it the Reagan mantle. Of all the people in the race, Palin is the one most like Ronald Reagan. I think Sarah is the only one who can actually pick up and credibly wear that Reagan Mantle because her personality and belief structure are more like Ronald Reagan than when any of the other candidates are compared to President Reagan.

I am also inclined to think it is that Reagan aura or Reagan Mantle that is obvious to those on the left and that is why they are so frightened of her and why they act accordingly.
