Prosecutors Attempt To Shut Blago Up

The government of the United States declared today they have tired of the Rod Blagojevich road show.

Prosecutor Reid Schar asked a federal judge to rein in the impeached former governor, accusing Blagojevich of using his frequent public appearances as a calculated strategy to taint the jury for his upcoming trial.

“At some point, enough is enough,” Schar told judge James Zagel. “If he wants to continue to lie, he ought to be called on it.”

At issue, is the former governor’s continuing assertion that prosecutors are withholding tapes which might bolster his claims of innocence. Schar said Blagojevich knows it is the judge himself who has ruled on the admissibility of certain tapes, not the prosecution team.

Does he believe this applies to Obama?

It should!

I don’t care who he is or what he did, he has a right to defend himself. IMO, he has a right to ALL of the damn tapes. The prosecution is required to prove his guilt. They’re not assumed correct from the point of accusation.

Well I'm not a lawyer but I've been on a jury before and I think Judges believe they have the right to instruct people on what they can talk about and I'm not sure it is a free-speech thing. If Blago is lying about who is blocking the release of the tapes I think it's perfectly appropriate for the prosecutor to ask the judge to tell him to knock it off.

When the prosecutor presses to suppress all phone calls and conversations in the last 12 hours or so before Blago’s arrest, it smells. Blago is an idiot and may have broken the law, but this has become a kangaroo court setup. Let ALL the evidence be entered, even if it embarrasses Jesse Junior, Rahm, or Barry. If Blago is guilty after ALL the evidence, convict. If he is prevented from entering evidence that shows he was NOT acting in a criminal way, go after the prosecutors for abuse.

Blagojevich trial avoids tainting Obama with Rezko, Obama and Patrick Fitzgerald violate US Constitution

The Citizen Wells blog has for several years pointed out the efforts of Patrick Fitzgerald and the US Justice Department to protect Obama in the “prosecution” of Rod Blagojevich.

William Cellini enmeshed in Chicago corruption world of Blagojevich Rezko and Obama

It is clear that the arrest, indictment and trials of Rod Blagojevich have been delayed to protect Obama. It is further clear that the prosecution of Blagojevich has been diluted to protect Obama and Blagojevich. I now believe that originally the Rezko trial was delayed to help Blagojevich and then when he fell out of grace as a presidential prospect, Obama became the primary focus of protection. The scheme has worked so far. Obama seized the White House and now controls the US Justice Department.

The following information and timeline makes it crystal clear that Patrick Fitzgerald and the Justice Dept. had sufficient evidence to arrest Rezko, Blagojevich, et al in 2005.............
