I am sad to say that my beloved state of Georgia only ranks 43rd worst at being green. I ws hoping for 50th place. On a side note, this is a great list for entrepeneurs - now you have a list of "green" states to avoid.

As a consequence, the state burns more coal and produces more carbon dioxide than any other state. This annoys me to no end. While there are real pollutants that have real health effects on people, in addition to causing real environmental damage, these idiots keep chasing after the carbon dioxide red herring. I don't want to hear about carbon dioxide; I want to hear about the success of efforts to reduce the sulfur, nitrogen, organo-phosphate, and other compounds that are the real pollutants.
