This is not new information for those of you in Iowa, but since the Hawkeye State became “shall issue” at the beginning of the year, permit applications are up almost 400 percent and the anti-gun nuts are freaking out. It’s public information, they demand the “right” to know who’s packing.

Since I pay a significant amount of tax dollars to the town, state and federal government, I must have “the right” to have provided to me a list of everyone who is receiving food stamps, enrolled in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (aka Section 8), receives subsidized school breakfasts, and/or collecting Social Security disability payments.

So, whoever is not on the list isn’t packing. I would rather be on the list for packing. Lib’s can be so stupid, and they swear way too much.

This can be easily resolved by doing away with the draconian permit requirement. There shouldn’t even be a list of “permit” holders to leak.

Right, crooks can now refer to the list to see who the easy marks are. On the list - pass 'em by; not on the list - easy prey.

The first thing that should happen is a boycott of that newspaper by these people, their friends, their families and their supporters.

Actually that's the second thing. The first thing that should happen is the addresses of the management and members of the editorial board being posted publicly. Then those names should be cross checked against the names of permit holders. The ones without permits should have their addresses highlighted for easy reference by bad guys.

This makes the conceal, carry an open carry permit by publicly announcing it. Excellent reason to reintroduce legislation as an open carry state.

The list of ‘rat-registered voters is also public information.

Wouldn’t it be fun to find ever ‘rat voter who isn’t on the concealed carry list, and publish a list of UNARMED ‘RATS? It would be very easy for a computer to do, with the help of a programmer with average skills.

For extra fun you could mash it up with Google Maps so it would be oh-so-easy to find them at home.

I bet they’d not LIKE that very much. But it would be perfectly legitimate public information, by the nasty set of rules THEY have chosen to play by.

I would never take part in or have fun doing anything that turns people into victims of others. I only was pointing out that what people think is a good idea for society is actually a horrible idea for their own safety.
