Tomorrow the W100 will begin with a 12 mile (19.4 km) ride in the heat of the day. A grueling 30 mile (48.3 km) ride will follow on Tuesday, with President Bush and the warriors finishing up the last 20 miles (32.3) on Wednesday. Stay tuned here for pictures from the trail, video of the ride and daily photo albums. Until then, get a sneak peek at some of the rough terrain and trails President Bush and 14 wounded warriors will be taking on over the next three days:
Some of the trail is wide enough for vehicles and several bikes.
Parts of the ride will have to be single-file.
And some of it will be straight uphill!
It will be a long, winding 100 kilometers, so check back for more pictures and video from the trail!
A short video clip of President Bush announcing the 100K can be found here.
Bios of the wounded warriors riding with President Bush can be found here.
Amen, ohio! Thanks for posting GREAT pictures!! What a blast they must be having with GWB! :)
These photos merit a quadruple AWESOME!!
dmd25 has posted even more photos on the Dose. I’ll post a few here just to show how amazing this event really was.
And may God bless our Wounded Warriors!
Amen to that.
Really enjoyed the photos!
Good job on this post there LUV. ;*)
Thanks oWf. Is Bret riding with them?
These images just about bring tears to my eyes. God bless
these heroes and God bless OUR president for honoring them
in this way!
*grin*
Couldn’t resist it. :)
I can see why. LOL!
Are you close enough to Big Bend to get a gander at our cycling heroes?
No...wish I was. I am about 4 hours north of Big Bend. It’s
VERY rugged terrain; I have great respect for the president
and these wounded warriors for enduring it...along with the
heat and the wind that is blowing right now. They are all
amazing!
Amazing and beyond awesome.
I really needed a pickup today, thank you very much.
