How eager is CNN for a Trump/Birther traffic windfall? Not only did they rush a story about this “scoop” onto their website hours before Cooper’s show airs, they posted a sneak preview of the exchange to entice viewers to watch. Who can resist a rainbow of extra page views? Not I, my friends, not I.
Real estate mogul Donald Trump’s latest claim about President Obama’s birth certificate is that it’s missing.
“Well I’ve been told very recently, Anderson, that the birth certificate is missing,” Trump told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Monday. “I’ve been told that it’s not there or it doesn’t exist. And if that’s the case it’s a big problem.”
When asked from whom he received the information, Trump said he didn’t want to say and that he feels bad about the situation.
He feels bad because he’d much prefer to talk about the important policy issues facing the country, every one of which turns out to be “so easy” to solve. He also digressed from his pursuit of a serious policy debate in an interview with the AP today to say that he’s heard Obama was a “terrible student, terrible” while at Columbia and Harvard. And he reassured the Des Moines Register that “Iowa is very, very important to me” and that “I’m a very conservative person. Extremely conservative.” So there you go. You’re now caught up on Trump news.
Exit question: Should we start a pool on when he’ll reveal the findings of his investigators? I’ll take “during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.” Unless we nominate him, we’ll never know the truth…

Why doesn’t Congress ask Obama to produce it?? They get their nose into everything else...baseball, food, exercise etc etc

Didn’t Gov Abercrombie tell everyone this tidbit of information at a public news conference? The Gov of Hawaii started off promising that he would find the birth certificate and then said that he couldn’t, because it just wasn’t there.
I saw part of that interview last night from Anderson Cooper. I thought Cooper was being fair to him and gave him every chance to answer the questions. They were simple questions, who has your investigators talked to in Hawaii about the birth certificate. Is there an active investigation? etc... Trump would not answer anything. I’m glad that Trump is out there hammering Obama about his birth certificate, but more and more Trump is looking like a fraud.

Where he was born is immaterial. Obama could have been born on a crowded NY city street, with hundreds of witnesses and his picture in the paper.
He’s not qualified, as he is not a Natural Born American - his mother is a US citizen, but his father is not.
Consider, under the given ‘watering-down’ of our Constitution, literally MILLONS of Mexican “Anchor Babies” are now qualified to hold the position of POTUS.
I think there are a LOT of people who realize the mega constitutional crisis this would cause and are afraid of it.
I think there would be far less longer term damage if this fraud were exposed and procedures put in place to prevent it in the future, but...
given the ideological makeup of the left and right,
there is MINISCULE possibility this would affect a conservative (someone who has an AMERICAN point of view),
vs the high likelihood of affecting a leftist candidate (who inherently would have an anti-American point of view).
This is probably the biggest pushback from the left - they WANT non-American loyalties to have power in our country.
I saw part of it, too. He just evaded all the questions. Maybe Trump has just been bluffing through this whole thing. If so, he is going to look pretty stupid.

Donald Trump is just as bad as the Hawaii supporters of Obama.
Obama’s supporters claim to have “Seen” his Long Form Birth Certificate but will not show it.
Now we have Trump giving us this mysterious “somebody” as if doing so will make him credible...

The birth certificate is as elusive as osama bin laden. I wonder which one will be found first; maybe when they find obl; he will have the birth certificate.
