Ron Paul, man for the times, announces exploratory on Hannity
The US Report ^ | Apr. 26, 2011 | Kay Day

Posted on 04/26/2011 7:43:00 AM PDT by Crush

Texas Congressman Ron Paul appeared on the Sean Hannity Show on Monday, and the Libertarian leaning Republican confirmed possibilities for a 2012 presidential run.

“We are going to announce I’m going to form an exploratory committee,” Paul said. That announcement will presumably happen, according to Politico, on Tuesday afternoon in Iowa at the Holiday Inn near the Des Moines airport.

Paul is making the talk show rounds, appearing on programs like 'Fox and Friends' and dropping by the chatty den 'The View'. Along the way, Paul is also promoting and signing his latest book, ‘Liberty Defined.’

On 'Fox and Friends' Tuesday morning Paul pointed out two of the biggest problems in the U.S.—“militarism and welfarism.” He rightfully said the Federal Reserve does not have constitutional authority to print money and as far as a theme goes, not much has changed for Paul over the years.

“Freedom is the issue,” he said. Asked about the issue of “militarism,” Paul posed a question: “What if China did to us what we do in other countries?”

Paul’s dialog with Hannity was the most substantive, with the congressman responding to questions about entitlements, the war in Libya and troops in Saudi Arabia. Paul wants to “address spending overseas” and that approach will resonate with fiscal conservatives. He gave a nod to former CIA analyst-turned author Michael Scheuer as “the most knowledgable person about Osama bin Laden.” Scheuer, like Paul, has a non-interventionist platform on matters such as Libya.

Asked about the desire by some to introduce aspects of Sharia law into the judicial system, Paul said, “We have to defend our principles.” He does however acknowledge the right of the developer at the Ground Zero Mosque to put the building there. Paul said the mosque is “a private property issue” and we shouldn’t believe...

The bad news is; now Rand Paul won’t run, which he was considering. Rand’s voice and ideas would be good for the debate.

I never can quite understand what Conservatives get so riled up about when a man comes out and wants to follow the Constitution. That is all he wants to do. As far as I can tell. He seems to me to be for a little tiny Federal Government. Real small. I like that. I guess Conservatives want a huge Federal Government to do their bidding just like the Rats.

"Just mindless attacks on RP will not help."

WTF are you NOT reading?

Can we rewind the tape on this guy and post for you statement after statement which puts him deeply in the kook category?

Ron Paul has one huge fatal flaw...he is a "Blame America First" moron. Ron Paul is completely oblivious to the Islamic Caliphate which fits his isolationists views.

Has some FR members become "useless idiots" to Islam?

What about Ron Pauls acceptance of Pork Barrel money? I'm sure that is what the Founders wanted right?

Ron Paul - Working for Islam, whether he knows it or not

The only exploratory committee RP should have is a team of proctologists to locate and extract his head...

I thought he was directing his ‘mental attributes’ towards the Fed. Can he keep his psychoses straight?

You like the Command and Control agencies? EPA, DOE, Commerce, Energy, Interior, IRS, The Fed, DHS, TSA, HHS, and on and on. There is the source of our problem. Paul will attack it. Babble about the budget and 20 year plans are a joke to me. Guess I am just a Loonie.

You offered no substantial response in post#17. Seemed a bit hypocritical.

It was only four years ago that Hannity was whining about everything and anything connected to Ron Paul.

How times have changed. (Did Sean bring up the subject of 'snowballs'? LOL!)

"I never can quite understand what Conservatives get so riled up about when a man comes out and wants to follow the Constitution."

Rule # 1) Never accept the premise of an argument from a liberal, or Paulhriod.

Ron Paul is a lunatic isolationist and American apologist. Surely you can find a real libertarian to support rather than someone who fools you into thinking he is a constitutionalist, but accepts tax payer funding for "Wild Shrimp" research.

Libertarians - Organized Anarchists

>>>>>>Has the FR become just a right leaning DU?

FR is a bastion of conservatism, you fool. Its always open season on liberals like Trump and loons like Ron Paul. The last thing America needs is an imperialist or isolationist foreign policy, respectively.

Where did I say I liked these government agencies? Don’t put words in my mouth. Paul will attack it. The man has no chance of being president. None. Nada. Zip. The man is a loon. Period. Enough said.

I always go Libertarian until they lose then vote the lesser of the two evils. The guy Johnson from New Mexico is Libertarian but does not get the Dander up like Paul. I am hoping Rush will pick a candidate this time. He is the main Conservative I like.

Huh? You need someone else to make your choices for you? You can't make objective decisions on your own? Now I know why you're so in love with Ron Paul.

Ron Paul would be one of our greatest presidents . . .

. . . if only it was 1912 rather than 2012.

Paul’s kool aid drinking followers are tiresome. Almost all of us say he has some good ideas but is kooky to the hilt on others. And yet, all the Paulista’s can do is say we are RINO’s.

That’s akin to Obama’s kool aid drinkers calling all attacks on Obama as racist. Same kindergarten type reasoning.

Besides, on terror and foreign policy, Paul is LEFT of the average RIINO. Same on some social issues. And libertarians think about this: until every nation is libertarian on foreign policy - no nation can afford to be libertarian on foreign policy.

And what do Paul’s Islamist buddies think about his book “Liberty Defined.” How do THEY define liberty? Just sayin...

HUH? I assure you Rush is no Paul supporter.

Likes some of his ideas, but not supporter at all.
