This sort of kills Trump's whole candidacy. Last night someone pinged me to tell me Trump was doing ‘God's Work’ with this BC nonsense. Trump needs to hold a press conference explaining how he won, and then go away.
I always though this BC stuff was an indication that those obsessed with it did not think Obama could be beat on issues and this was their one imaginary hope. Then Trump appeared and confirmed it.

Trump has long struck me as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Show up, become popular among those who don't realize he is NOT a conservative, lose the GOP nomination, run as an independent, pull just enough votes to put Obama back into the White House for the second term he so richly deserves to lose.
Maybe we can avoid that scenario.
I think that Obama can be beaten on the issues but why not soften him up a bit with this? People are obsessed with this, not for the reason that you suggest, but because something seems out of order in this whole situation. Why would Obama fight this so vigorously and allegedly spend two million dollars to keep a supposedly non-damaging document from being released? All this from the man who claimed he would have the most transparent Presidency of all-time. He still needs to provide some explanations.

Do birthers realize the big ‘kick me’ sign they are putting their backs by doubting the very document they demand be released? It’s there, it’s real, and calling it a forger

Or rather, they have this “Aha!” idea that could somehow catch him or trip him up, as if the rest of the country would just let an election get overturned on doubts about where he was born (HINT TO BIRTHERS: He doesnt have to convince YOU, he just have to convince the authorities who put hom on the ballot. He has done that. In spades.)
