Real estate developer and TV showman Donald Trump fueled speculation that he'll enter the 2012 White House race, assuring a crowd of supporters at a Las Vegas casino that he is seriously weighing a presidential run in a speech laced with the F-word.

The setting Thursday night was fitting for the casino mogul whose moniker is draped across the gold-tinged Trump International Hotel & Tower just off the Las Vegas Strip. An open bar greeted more than 1,000 people, waiters passed hors d'oeuvres, and a Trump impersonator entertained the crowd.

So you are saying “jump the shark” means doing something that will lead to/end up in a downward spiral?

Trump has already announced that he will run as an independent if he does not get the GOP nomination which he won't.

IMO he is throwing huge amounts of red meat out there to draw as many followers as possible away from the GOP towards his Independent run in an attempt to pull a Ross Perot to split the vote to almost guarantee a Dem win.

Anyway, that is how my devious mind thinks... I don't trust this guy. Especially when the survival of America as we know it is at stake.

Norm is right...it was water skiing.

They didn’t have jet skis in the 50s nor, I believe, when the program was filmed.

The indignation is appalling. Petulance is the vice of RINOs.

On one hand, we have FReepers eagerly anticipating CWII, on the other hand, peevish critics offended by fractional color.

Trump spoke on behalf of every damn Conservative principle, and FReepers are wetting their damn panties...

Excuse me folks, but what the hell is the problem?

I’ve heard him say that he won’t do anything that will assure an Obama reelection, and that means not the independent route.

He said that he will run as an independent if he was sure he would win.

Good thinking!

We must vote business as usual..We must vote GOP, we must have career D.C. politicians in power. They will compromise what is best for the status quo and the party! Hold your nose...vote for that better of two evil...It's worked out so well in the past...Just look around!

Is prime and proper from a teleprompter con man more to your liking? The biggest scam pulled on the USA and some are more interested in appropriate speech. Liberal talking point.

I’m currently rereading Huxley’s Brave New World. I recommend it to everyone.

The first chapter explains perfectly what we are seeing here, but in ‘fantasy’ form.

People programmed to mindlessly follow the herd.

Who said anything about voting "Business as usual" and "maintaining the status quo?"

The GOP should be taking notes and noting the success in the popularity of the Trump style of using a full frontal assault against the opposition. Once he is put under the microscope and the anal examination begins against Mr. Trump there will be many skeletons in the closet and track records that will surface that will demolish his popularity rapidly.

There is way to much at stake to be putting all of the eggs in one basket.

For all those who decry the lack of decorum displayed in the whitehouse by Obama and back Trump...is this really what we need and deserve?
Those who feed the Trump ego machine need to wake up. This man is only out for number one.He will bring a WWF style of vulgar manners to the Whitehouse.
All those Trumpettes out there....Look at the man you back and tell me, is this the best man for the job.

Actually I’m Palin/West but on the odd chance I’ll burst your bubble...

WWF manners entered the WH with the Clintons and are in full bloom RIGHT NOW.

Trump the best man? Nope. Trump better than Obama? By a trillion times...make that 14 Trillion times. I’ll forgive the vaudeville act if it means an end to the Marxist in the WH and I suspect that’s the thinking behind the vast majority of his current supporters.

saying Trump is better than Obama is like saying a pimple is better than cancer. Anything would be better than Obama.
But we shouldnt have to just vote against someone. We have to be able to vote for someone. We dont need a anti Obama. We need someone who will stand tall for true Conservatism and not some vulgar clown who speaks to massage his ego.
If trump is nominated, he will go down in flames. The party will split and this will insure another four years of a neo-Marxist President.
You heard it here first....

Trump would be the lesser of two evils. Are we going to work to elect a person just because he isnt Obama? that worked so well for Bob Dole against Clinton, didnt it?
We need a true conservative. Not some vulgar clown and huckster.
Trump is running for himself. Like some sort of Reality show, he will milk this for his own gain.
Sorry...Trump isnt the right person.....

“saying Trump is better than Obama is like saying a pimple is better than cancer.”

It is.

“Anything would be better than Obama.”

My point in a nutshell.

“But we shouldnt have to just vote against someone. We have to be able to vote for someone. We dont need a anti Obama. We need someone who will stand tall for true Conservatism and not some vulgar clown who speaks to massage his ego.”

I agree 100% which is why i’m a P/W fan. But reality may rear its ugly head and we may well HAVE to elect a pimple to avoid terminal cancer.

“If trump is nominated, he will go down in flames.”

Only if righteously indignant people allow it by CHOOSING to not vote for him if he is nominated and thus GUARANTEE an Obama win.

“The party will split and this will insure another four years of a neo-Marxist President.”

Then the party better wake the hell up, quit ignoring the base and quit governing like Democrats! THE GOP brought this on itself by pussifying itself with RINOS and compromisers.

“You heard it here first....”

Actually, I hear it every time someone cant differentiate between the forest and the trees. Hope you are wrong.

I am with you. Palin/West would be the best ticket.
If Trump gets the Nod, It will require a lot of soul searching on my part to vote for him. Aint we tired of holding our noses to vote and then feeling to need to shower after we leave the voting booth?
The GOP has been in a Coma for decades. The last person the party put up that was true was Reagan, and they did that kicking and screaming. They had to saddle him with a RINO to make it go down easier for them to take. The plaid pants wing of the GOP hates confrontation and rocking the boat. It might require them to do some heavy lifting for a change and it would take time away from their golfing.
If the GOP goes down in flames, the country will go with it. And this should keep every real American up at night thinking of ways to keep it from happening. Right now the GOP is “Democrat Lite”. The RINOS hate the Teaparty more than the left does. It upsets them because we are viewed as ungrateful children rebelling against them. They had better wake up.
And on these thing we are in agreement.
