TRIPOLI, Libya — Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi survived a NATO missile strike Saturday that killed his youngest son and three grandchildren and wounded friends and relatives, Libya's spokesman said.

Gadhafi and his wife were in the Tripoli house of son Saif al-Arab Gadhafi, 29, when it was hit by at least one missile fired by a NATO warplane, according to Libyan spokesman Moussa Ibrahim.

Libyan officials took journalists to the one-story house in a wealthy residential neighborhood. Some areas of the roof were caved in, leaving strings of reinforcing steel hanging down among chunks of concrete.

Obama now has Qaddafi blood on his hands. We need to drive this message home in letters to the editor. Nothing elaborate just ask the question, “ Does this mean The Great Humanitarian has acted inhumanely?”

"Here’s something to add to your confusion: most of Libya’s oil goes to communist China."

Here's something to add to your confusion: ALL of Libya's 11% total oil exports to China are purchased with profits from Chicom exports to the US.

>>>I would think that somebody’s grandchildren died in Lockerbie.
My sentiments exactly. Gadhafi plays with fire so he should be hurt by his own games.<<<

Your sentiments exhibit none of the moral superiority we Americans so readily and confidently claim. What would Jesus say?

And then imagine he spent that same night partying and telling jokes. The double standard makes me sick. Journalists are criminals for aiding our national nightmare.

I thought about it, and checked on a reference. I was wrong. Most of Libya’s futures contracts are with communist China.

I was told there was some sort of bidding war between Italy, Turkey, and China, and China won. Five years from now China will be getting most of it.

Like I said. I got the frame screwed up.

I agree about mission creep. Guess that structure had wings like the tanks and APCs.

Who gave the orders? Which country contributed the plane? Are they ashamed to admit it?

I would hope whoever it was had intel that he was inside that home. The sub-heading says he escaped uninjured. Saddam used to put out false plans to "test" his loyal subjects.

I ask again, is this a “Just War”? Should we be targeting civilians? Children?

"Resist not evil" was abandoned by the fourth century when Jesus' followers realized that pagan barbarians were destroying the thin fabric of civilization in which their faith flouished.

+Augustine of Hippo (Egypt) formulated the first "Just War" principle when the ancestors of Khadafi were advancing: War is just if it preserves the peace.

But wait, it was a NATO airstrike...so the US is off the hook...because Barry said we would be “out in days” and that over a month ago.

Phew.

/sarcasm.

This is a war crime. Where are all the leftists who usually scream about such things from the Criminal Court of the Hague?

I think you better brush up on “Just War Doctrine”. It doesn’t apply here. Not even close!

One claims moral superiority when one is overwhelmingly strong. I'm an American and I'm ok with going medieval on muzzies during this sad part of our grand and glorious history.

A rollback to 1000 AD rules is ok with me on rules of warfare. One side fights that way anyway. It's a dumb and dead gentleman that insists on Queensbury rules when the chap on the other side is playing by barbarian rules.

To be fair, we need to level the playing field. You kill our families, we kill yours.

It's a war. I don't particularly think it's a good idea now, but it's all about breaking things and killing people. Our side needs to be the best at that so that get our politcal goals.

Otherwise, we need to go home and stay on the porch. Run with the big dogs, you ARE going to get hurt.

I can only speak for the way I feel and I surely don’t feel proud. What difference does it make who commits the murder of children and civilians? If Obama’s children were killed because the terrorists have something against him, would it be somehow worse than this? The “tit for tat” thing seldom ends with one death.

I can only hope the enemies this has made for Obama and Nato have better aim than this. What would you do? We now owe Qadafi the same restitution we demanded of him.

This is Barrack Hussein Obama’s idea of a “humanitarian” mission.

His son was/is 29. Plenty old enough to have joined in the manly pastime of killing infidels.

He was 4 years old when Berlin discotheque bombing happened, and 6 years old on the day of Lockerbie. Libya didn't do much of terrorism after that (in part because Gaddafi's interests changed.)

So unless each and every 29 years old Arab shall be exterminated on sight, we should presume that the man was innocent - until proven otherwise.
