You must not have got the memo. The only thing removed from the crime scene was one unidentified body. No other bodies dead or alive were taken.

This wasn’t a teevee show, in the real world stuff doesn’t happen the way the script is supposed to read.

I doubt seriously any identification can be made in under 12 hours that will hold up to scrutiny, and they had the body less than 12 hours, and transported it 800 miles, gave it a “bath and a shave” and tossed it out with the trash.

What the idiot is chief was doing last night was lying through his teeth. He had reason to believe they had the right guy, but no definitive proof. He is unable to speak the truth.

They may know now or soon, but not when the announcement was made.

A wealth of computer data is what I am hearing.

Did you read my post. They have a prototype that can do a gene ID in 30 minutes from a handheld device. We have mobile crimelabs.

We had a pretty good idea going in that it was OBL there with his wife and kids. We sort of perhaps considered that we might want to know ASAP if it was him using DNA.

Maybe somebody thought ahead. It is the CIA. It shouldn't be dismissed from possibility - and it is certainly possible if they thought ahead that they might want a DNA identification.

Seeings as how his sisters DNA was ‘on hand’ to compare it with, computer file or physical, I would imagine the equipment to test his DNA went with it.

But really, I only did this for a living for a year ten years ago, and I am sure the technology has just sat there....

Oh no, wait; an article from two years ago says a guy has a handheld device that can do it in 30 minutes!

Oh yea, I think I saw that mobile crime lab hitched to the rear of one of the Blackhawks.

There exists prototypes for all sorts of wonder stuff, highly doubtful any kind of junk like that would be carried into a night assassination attempt on foreign soil.

Wow, a whole year working as a lab tech somewhere, I am duly impressed.

I could tell you if the guy was the sibling of the sister in a single working day - or less.

which sibling ???

The article says it was done in a lab in Afghanistan.

Highly probable that the lab would be set up, with 10 years, and having this sample for a long time, and knowing that he was somewhere nearby most likely.

A year working as a DNA analyst before attending grad school in cell and molecular biology. Doing it every day for a year with technology from ten years ago and I know it could be done in about 4-8 hours using ten year old techniques.

Sorry if you liked your story of it taking two months better.

Wow, I thought all this stuff happened in pookiston, now they made a side trip to afganistan.

This is getting more believable by the minute......

BTW, how long did it take to get the DNA identified from the blue dress?

Yeah, but that was based upon you NOT reading the article - because it said from the first that it was identified in Afghanistan - AND having the mistaken impression a DNA identification would take two months.

Apparently they have had his sister's DNA on hand in a lab in Afghanistan waiting to ID Bin Lauden for a couple years now.

Our troops are, you might remember, STATIONED in Afghanistan.
