The radio bit this morning started with zer0 saying "At my direction..." followed soon by "...a small group of Americans..." First egotism, then no credit to the US military in general or to Navy Seals in particular. Who were these "Americans?" Members of Americorps or ACORN perhaps. After I heard the same bit of zer0's voice three times, I stopped listening to the radio news.

Congratulations Navy Seals and all support troops.

Amen. They are the best the world has ever seen. What they pulled off in this mission should leave our enemies quaking in fear. It's such an insult to read posts that say the Navy Seals and Delta Force are lying and covering up for this administration, and that this mission never happened.

Mark Steyn: If ever there was a moment for the commander-in-chief to be real, plainspoken and off his glassy-eyed follow-the-bouncing-ball routine, this was it. It’s as if nobody around him knows how to write except in the one tinny key.

****

No one who writes for The WON knows how to write a pro-military, pro-America speech. That is why they always sound fake - because they are.

Here is the link to President Bush’s announcement of the capture of Saddam.

<4 minutes.
President Bush says “I” 3 times.
I have a message for Iraqis..
I thank our forces...
I congratulate all...

He says “our” about 9 times, and never says “my” or “me.”

Omg, did he really say “a small group of Americans?” not troops, not special forces, not navy seals, but a small group of Americans??? Some wandering tourists in Abbotabad, carrying cameras and wearing tennis shoes???
