Cindy Sheehan: I am sorry, but if you believe the newest death of OBL, you're stupid.

I am sorry, but if you believe the newest death of OBL, you're stupid. Just think to yourself--they paraded Saddam's dead sons around to prove they were dead--why do you suppose they hastily buried this version of OBL at sea? This lying, murderous Empire can only exist with your brainwashed consent--just put your flags away and THINK!

Personally, I haven't heard the after action report, nor a SEAL interview to make the determination which apparently you have.

I simply think it is not plausible that Obama would trust a unit of Navy Seals to lie for his political ends. Rather I would trust the specified unit would set the record straight.

Very well we have not heard from the Seals (unless I missed it), but do you suspect that they would be afraid to speak up if it were a hoax? Or do you suspect they would be "taken care of" or what not? And who do you suppose Obama would have do the deed? Or perhaps you think the unit never existed?

Look, I just can't find a plausible explanation of how this kind of hoax could be pulled off. Seems much more likely that the hard work of our heroes interrogating detainees, gathering intelligence, and going in and taking the guy down simply succeeded.

The fact that Obama, who was on balance was unhelpful to such efforts before he was President happened to be in office at the time, and made a sickening attempt to grab more credit for Bin Laden's death than he deserved is besides the point. The American soldier can still kick ass even with a jack ass at the top.

We have a statement from an illegal president...Fore me Cindy Sheehan gets a pass..her son was killed....mothers can act any way they want. It is tragic she is being manipulated. We should not condemn her.

Agreed we should not condemn her--not to say we should give her irrational ramblings any credibility. But we should be compassionate, not because she deserves it, but because the Lord commands it of us--but then He asks that we love everyone...even our enemies--not to say we should not oppose and fight them when it is right to do so. At no time should we ever condemn another in our hearts. Hard not to do in some cases, but the hard simple words of the Lords prayer make it clear: "...as we forgive those who trespass against us."

While OSL was certainly a horrific bastard compared to most humans, by God's standards we all suck morally. I pray--with some difficulty--for his soul, for all the good it will do him. But I pray more easily for the souls of his victims.

I agree about the American Soldier, there is a long line of Army, Navy and Marines in the family all the back to pre-revolutionary days. It’s just that things that have been harped on about Caligula that he has not done are all of a sudden being done - I don’t trust the man. All of a sudden he is giving the populace exactly what they want.

It was probably just BS but a SEAL recently discharged in 1983 told me he had to do as much as he could (5th) while on his first “night-out” with the guys. It was just anecdotal, obviously not a Navy requirement.

Eyedigress, you might ask Freeper Travis McGee whether there was/is a standing SEAL tradition about this. He should know since he is a former Navy SEAL(commissioned officer).

Wow, good work tracing it back that far, you should be proud. My own family history seems to be more engineer than soldier (my dad, sister, and I are engineers, also a grandfather and great grandfather were), however there has been a spike of Army service in my immediate family. My dad was an army officer as well, my non-engineer brother served in the army, and I served in the army national guard.

I find growing up an army brat gives one a different perspective. I don't think of myself as belonging to any particular part of the USA, I think of myself as a USA citizen.

The problem I have with Obama, is that I really don't think he views himself as a citizen. Not to say anything about the legal debate on the matter, just talking about his heart. I don't think he has bought into really being a part of this nation except as a resident and a heckler...certainly a very foolish choice for our leader.

Thank you for clearing that up. I just wasn’t following your meaning the other night. Cheers!
